From the Front Porch

A big thank you to Annie and her staff for this wonderful podcast. I’ve come to think of The Bookshelf as one of my local indie bookstores even though I am many miles away in Maryland. I look forward to each episode, have thoroughly enjoyed the Conquer a Classic this year, and I’m looking forward to Don Quixote and to receiving Annie’s book next year. This is such a cozy spot in my week and I’m grateful to have found all of you!

My first time hearing your Podcast was in February 2024, in San Antonio, TX. I fell asleep to it but heard over half of the episode…The rest I listened to was the following day! I love your book suggestions, love your personal life recap, and love the relaxing vibe of the podcast! I have listened weekly since then, shared your podcast/instagram with my book club, and bought recommended books online per your recommendations. I’m in Oregon, but hope to come to your store someday and meet you! I rely on your Podcast to comfort me weekly!! Thank you for book recommendations and your comforting conversations with your employees… LOVE them all!! Your parents also give me warm hugs when you have them on the show!🩷🩷

I recently found From The Front Porch and have truly enjoyed so many episodes. It's warm, cozy and real and I cannot wait to keep exploring.

I grew up a reader, devouring books like it was my job. Then adult life happened and I lost that joy I felt in reading. I started listening to some book podcasts to try to make reading part of my routine again, and From the Front Porch is a standout! I can personally relate to Annie so much (hello, enneagram 5) and listening to her talk about the Bookshelf, what she’s reading, and life in general is something I look forward to all week! I have gotten so many good book recommendations from Annie and her team. The new release episodes where Olivia and Erin come on are some of my favorites. You can tell that The Bookshelf highly values its people as their number one priority in the business which I love too! I have a standing item to “trip to Thomasville, Georgia and book shopping spree” on all Christmas lists and birthday/anniversary gift idea lists…so that visit HAS to be happening eventually.
