We just released our latest Commanders Briefing Podcast episode on all Podcast platforms. In this episode we sit down with the Commanding General of the Texas State Guard Commanding General Major General Anthony Woods. The episode was recoded in November 2022, since then The General was promoted from Brigadier to Major General. During the interview we discuss the current missions the Texas State Guard, their integration into The Texas Military Forces and how vital they've become as an organization. We also discuss their Active Duty missions in which they have 400 continuously serving soldiers. It was an amazing interview shedding a lot of light on one of the nations top State Defense Forces.

In this episode we sit down with the Commanding General of the Georgia State Defense Force, Brigadier General Mark D. Gelhardt Sr.. We discuss the current missions the Georgia State Defense Force is engaging in, their response during the Covid-19 pandemic, as well their Opposing Force (OPFOR) mission. We finish the episode with recommendations from the General on how State Defense Forces can better support their National Guard.

In this episode we sit down with the Commanding General of the California State Guard, Major General Jay Coggan. In this episode we discuss the latest missions of the California State Guard, focusing particularly on their Wild-land firefighting missions. We then dive into the Florida State Guard and their classification as a Civilian Force, we cover the differences of being classified as a military force instead of a civilian force. We then end the episode discussing the future of the State Defense Force, discussing out of state deployments and the possibly to assist the National Guard in their international deployments.

In this episode we sit down with the New York National Guard Adjutant General (TAG), Major General Raymond Shields. The episode also featured Colonel Richard Goldenberg, the New York National Guard Public Affairs Officer (PAO). In this episode we dive into the relationship between the New York National Guard and New York Guard (State Defense Force). We also discussed the recommendations Major General Shields has for other State Defense Forces on how to strengthen and develop their relationship with their States National Guard.

In this episode we sit down with the new Commanding General of the New York Guard Brigadier General Peter Riley. We dive into his military background covering his time in service in the Army National Guard. We then cover the current missions of the New York Guard, its Covid-19 Response Missions and its working hand in hand with its National Guard.
