In 2002, a handful of people who had a burden to reach friends and family members who were far from God began praying, asking God what He would have them do. In the fall of 2003, monthly services began and by the spring of 2004, Moss Brook Church was meeting every Sunday.

THE SCRIPTURES
We believe that the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments are, in their original languages, the verbally inspired words of God. We believe the Scriptures are inerrant (without fault or mistake) and therefore, the complete, sufficient and ultimate authority for the well-being of mankind. (II Timothy 3:15-17 / II Peter 1:20-21)

GOD
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three persons- Father, Spirit and Son. We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son, is truly God and truly man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary. After living a sinless life, He willingly died on the cross for our sin and rose again to provide salvation and eternal life for all those who trust Him. We believe the Holy Spirit’s ministry is to glorify Jesus Christ, as well as to indwell, guide and instruct the believer. (John 17:3 / Matthew 28:19-20 / John 1:1-4 / John 3:16 / John 16:14 / John 14:26)

MAN
We believe that man was created by God, in His image, but fell into sin and is therefore lost and condemned apart from salvation through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:1-6 / Romans 3:10-19 / Romans 1:18)

SALVATION
We believe that Jesus Christ died willingly on the cross and shed His blood that all men might be forgiven their sin and given eternal life. Belief in Christ and His finished work on the cross is mankind’s only hope of salvation. We believe in water baptism as a public declaration of trust in Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead- the righteous to spend eternity in heaven in the presence of God, and the unbelieving to eternal punishment. (Romans 6:23 / Romans 10:9-10 / I Corinthians 15 / I Thessalonians 4:16-17)

THE CHURCH
We believe that the true Church is made up of all who place their faith and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation. At the moment a person places their faith in Christ, they become part of this worldwide body. We believe that local churches, such as ours, exist for the glorifying of God. Our mission as a church is to turn lost people into reproducing followers of Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20 / Acts 2:42-46 / Ephesians 4:16).

    Q&A with Pastors
Pastor Mike Booker & Pastor Tim Knowles

    1) What does the Bible say about God's Word and different versions of it? What version of the
Bible do you pastors prefer? What versions do they primarily teach from? And why? (II Timothy
    3:16-17 / II Peter 2:20-21)

    2) Why do we have Church on Sunday when Saturday is the Sabbath? (Matthew 28:1-6 / I
    Corinthians 16:1-2 / Acts 20:7 / Romans 14:5-6 / Colossians 2:16-17)

    3) With understanding Moss Brook is more involved in the community than most church groups.
Sponsoring community events and now doing after school Wednesdays; sure has its benefits.
Why is so much time, money, and effort given to other countries when we have individuals here in
our country that have never heard of God? Is it for the "acknowledgement" of helping those far
away? Why don't we have missionaries work here on our home ground more? (Matthew 28:18-20 /
    Acts 1:8)

    4) What does the Bible say about female pastors? And women in leadership roles? (I Timothy
    3:1-13 / Titus 1:5-9 / I Corinthians 12:4-13 / Galatians 3:28)
    Follow up to that question:
1st Cor 14:34-35 has always confused me. We are supposed to read the Bible literally but if true,
    only men speak in churches??

    Sunday AM Q&A 5/12/24
    5) Where in scripture are transgender issues addressed? Is homosexuality a learned behavior or
are people born that way? If the latter is true, how can that be if we are created in God’s image?
    (Genesis 1:27 / Genesis 2:18-25 / Leviticus 18:22 / Leviticus 20:13 / Romans 1:24-28 / I
    Corinthians 6:9-11)

    6) What happens when someone dies by suicide? If a person has accepted Jesus as their Savior,
does their suicide impact their place in heaven? Does suicide keep you from going to heaven if you
are truly saved? (Romans 10:9-10 / John 10:28-29)

    7) Why do some churches believe in purgatory? Are those that have died currently in Heaven or
are they in some kind of purgatory waiting for Judgement Day? (II Corinthians 5:8 / Luke 16:19-31 /
    I Thessalonians 4:14)

    8) What does the Bible say about the rapture and the tribulation period? Are we really living in the
    end times? (I Thessalonians 4:13-18 / I Thessalonians 5:1-11 / Revelation 6-16 / Matthew 24:14,
    21, 44 / Acts 1:7)
