The Beatitudes - 21st July 2024
Speaker: Pastor Mason Smith of Multination Church Frankfurt
Title: Blessed are the Pure in Heart 🙏Theme: What is your true motivation?📖 Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:8, Proverbs 21:2, & 1 Samuel 16:7. Opening Scripture: Psalm 51:10-12. Key verse: Matthew 5:8.The heart is the center of who we are as a person. It represents our true selves. So, when Jesus refers to those who are pure in heart he is looking beyond the outward and visible and is looking into our hearts to see our true motivation. 👀Why do we really worship? Why do we really come to church? Why do we really pray? 🤔 -

Title: Blessed are the Merciful 🙏Theme: Showing mercy means to be forgiving📖 Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:7, & Genesis 50:15-21. Opening Scripture: Matthew 6:9-15.Are we saved by forgiving others? Doesn’t the Bible teach that we are “saved by Grace through faith” and NOT by “works”?So, how do we understand Jesus’ teaching both in Matthew 5:7, and Matthew 6:9-15? 🤔Obviously, being merciful and forgiving others is crucial to the life of a disciple. Let’s explore this challenging command more deeply! 👀 -
The Beatitudes - 7th July 2024

Title: “Blessed are Those Who Hunger and Thirst”Theme: Living a righteous life📖 Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:6, James 1:22-27, and Micah 6:6-8. Opening Scripture: Galatians 5:16-25. Key verse: Matthew 5:6.What are you really hungry for in life? Do you hunger for the things of the Spirit, or of the Flesh? 🤔The opposite of seeking the things of the world is to seek first the kingdom of God and all its righteousness (Matthew 6:33). 🙏However, is righteousness only about good moral behavior and self-discipline? Or is God also seeking a true righteousness that is more than following laws and is expressed deeply in our relationships with the least of these? 👀 -
The Beatitudes - 30th June 2024

Title: Blessed are the MeekTheme: Disciples are not demanding and aggressive, but gentle andsacrificially minded…Sermon Scripture: Matthew 5:5 and Colossians 3:12-15Opening Scripture: Galatians 5:22-23Does having the right to do something mean you should? Does having the power to do something make it right? We all want justice. We all want to get what we feel we deserve. However, is this mindset godly or worldly? The character of the disciple is evidenced by meekness that leads to knowing when to hold back, remain humble, and possibly even lose for the sake of saving or serving another. -

Title: Blessed Are Those Who MournTheme: Mourning over our sinSermon Scripture: Matthew 5:4 & Joel 1:13-15; 2:12-14Opening Scripture: Psalm 51:1-12Have you ever been heartbroken? Have you ever experienced the depths of grief coming from the loss of someone you love? At such moments of weeping and despair we often think of the words of Jesus from Matthew 5:4, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” But is this really what Jesus had in mind? Was he referring to sorrow over our losses, or something deeper? If the Beatitudes are meant to be the spiritual qualities of a disciple, then perhaps we’ve misread Jesus’ teaching here. Let’s wrestle with this passage together! -
