    133. Earmuffs

Welcome back to the Music Crush Monday Podcast!  This week Kevin is up with music selection and puts the disclaimer out there to make sure the kids put on those earmuffs!

Kevin reaches back a little bit to his roots and shows Steve some underground music that he is fond of.  This week’s artist has an interesting career because when it wasn’t working out for him and the record label, he took his own career in his hands and that is when things started to really take off!  With some interesting choice of words and lyrical content, this music is aggressive and may not be for everyone but if you have an ear for this style of music, you should hear the talent and go check out more music by this artist!

Reach out to us and let us know what you think of this week’s selection!  We have all of our contact information below and look forward to hearing from you!  If you could also check out our Patreon page and support the podcast, that would be amazing.  Suggest some of your personal favorite music to us as well so we can even play those artists on the show.  Thank you for joining this week and as always, we’ll see you next Monday!

    128. Piggy Back

    128. Piggy Back

It is Monday and we all know the drill around here! A band is chosen, music is played, we discuss it, you listen, form your own opinions, and then reach out to us and let us know your thoughts. That is what happens right? Well, Kevin has picked the music this week and openly admits the first song is not what you think of when you hear this band. Tune in to check this one out.

So this was not meant to piggyback on last week’s episode but there is a similar theme. What is interesting is Kevin was thinking about this band quite a bit and the impact they had on him but the impact the singer had on this world. Then hearing the story of the singer of Frightened Rabbit it just triggered that it was also time to share a band with a similar result. There needs to be a silver lining in the darkest of times and that is where the music helps. Even if the lyrics are sad when you zoom out and notice their situation, it still helps you cope or helps you get through your own issues.

The Cure

This show is just what is missing. In a world where rap seems to have swallowed the mainstream whole these two bring you their favorite bands which in turn shines light on music you've both heard and you hear someone else discuss and relate why they love them too but also light on those you've never heard of bringing new music to your ears. Getting to hear the song and then having them discuss it allows you to get an indepth look at music you either already want to know more about or you've just discovered through them. They're the cure to the rap illness.

Great show

Really excellent concept and it is well put together. The hosts seem like cool people and I really enjoy it!

Celebrates quality music w/o snobbery

These guys are great! I’m one of those people who feels like they missed the bus on getting into good music in adolescence and now has no idea how to dive back in.

But they take the work out of it!

Often music shows take the joy out of discovering new bands with negativity and snobbery. These guys don’t do that. They respect the artists, respect each other and clearly enjoy what they do.

It’s joy. It’s music. It’s friendship and it’s polished.
