Even though so many dreams are false and contrary to the happiness God offers, this one leads strait (and narrow) to it.

This is part thirteen in a twenty-part series of talks that have ROCKED my foundation of what I thought my testimony was based on. Instead of ideas and facts, I've discovered that the true gospel roots us in relationships and touches our hearts far more than it proves itself on paper or appeals to our minds. SO cool and something that I totally feel can help you on your journey to the promised land. Have fun with it and see how the speaker's words can apply to your life! Enjoy!

Part IX: To Have Peace and Happiness | Richard G. Scott

Part IX: To Have Peace and Happiness | Richard G. Scott

This is an address given by Richard G. Scott during a CES fireside for young adults in September 2010. Pay close attention to how he describes the relationship between, on one hand: service, thoughtfulness, giving, praise, and time; and on the other hand: happiness, peace, and feeling loved. Think about how it was not only his wife’s actions nor only his own which contributed to the happiness they experienced together, but both—as though his acts of service not only enriched her life, but his own; and likewise, her acts of service not only blessed his life, but hers also. It is this upward spiral of mutual love, fueled by mutual service and kindnesses, that I believe constitutes a veritable engine of spiritual power in and for the marriage—the sustenance needed to sustain its operation, as also to warrant the laboring for its existence. In a word, it’s the creation of something out of nothing. But I’ll leave that for you to decide.
