Emotional Management & Self-Care with Master Life Coach Brenda Lomeli

Emotional Management & Self-Care with Master Life Coach Brenda Lomeli

Master Life Coach, podcaster, business owner, and entrepreneur, Brenda Lomeli didn’t take a direct path to becoming a life coach. After a career in occupational therapy and a quest to find solutions to why she wasn’t losing weight, Brenda educated herself with her master’s degree, a certification as a nutritionist and if that wasn’t enough, she received whole foods culinary training. All of this and yet she still struggled with weight, food, and her body image for decades. She was successful in all areas of her life, except for when it came to her weight. Everything changed though when she became a certified master life coach and within 9 months, she lost 80lbs and was armed with the answers she’d been looking for all her life.
You’re going to learn things on your journey and it won’t be organized, but it will be yours.
    What we’re talking about
Learning Emotional Management & Self-Care Tools Creating Change From A Place Of Deserving More Staying With Yourself Learning Emotional Management & Self-Care Tools
Brenda had learned all she could about food and nutrition and exercised regularly, yet she still hadn’t found the missing link to help her lose 80lbs. She discovered the idea of emotional management and self-care and took all of those tools to create a program for her clients. These tools help us take care of ourselves by learning how to zoom out and take an aerial view of your life and emotions. Ask yourself what you want in life? Why do you feel burnt out? Instead of reaching for the tubs of popcorn or bottle of wine as your escape button, ask yourself how you’re feeling. These questions will become useful for you to build and create shifts in your life.
Creating Change From A Place Of Deserving More
Losing weight is often accompanied by thoughts that we don’t look good and we have become self-critical. Brenda shares how taking the position that losing weight is a way of taking care of ourselves and that the solution isn’t learning about food but about learning the  emotional self-care tools we need so that we are no longer use food to try to solve problems that it can’t. A great reminder that Brenda shares is that change has to come from a place within which we know we deserve more. We have to make the switch from being our biggest critic to our best friend. Yes, hormones, age, having kids are all factors, but what you eat and drink can either help or hurt these factors, therefore you have to make better choices. Become a partner with your body.
    Staying With Yourself
Don’t take the position that you have to cut everything bad out. Be strategic about what you do. Instead of having wine every night, have it just a couple of times a week, let yourself enjoy popcorn at the movies. Make the change for yourself and stop judging yourself. When you feel the urge to go against the new choices you want to make for yourself, stop and get curious. Stay with the feelings you’re having and discover what they are and why you’re feeling them. Curiosity over judgement will always help you understand things quicker and create change that feels loving and lasting. Don’t abandon yourself if you feel stressed. Allow yourself to feel your feelings. You will become unstoppable because you know you can take on anything and any feeling.
Are you ready to become your own best friend?

The Importance Of Doing Research In Your Business

The Importance Of Doing Research In Your Business

Research is one of the most important aspects of your business and applies to virtually everything you do from launching your business to growing it. Research takes work and isn’t the sexiest topic, but it can literally set you apart from competitors, grow your business more rapidly, and ensure that you are speaking directly to your ideal client. You are researching things in your life right now,  such as how to cut hair at home because you want direction and best practices before trying it yourself. Shouldn’t this theory apply to your business?! It should and I’m sharing how it can. I research things in my business and as a part of my business every single day. I start with stalking my current clients as part of our strategy and go all the way to researching and stalking podcasts to find the right fit for my clients. I researched my business before launching it and utilize these skills in my everyday life as well.
Get ready to ask questions and look for answers!
    What we’re talking about
Research & A SWOT Analysis Can Grow Your Business Identify Your Ideal Client & Stand Out From Your Competitors Utilizing Research To Launch A Business Research & A SWOT Analysis Can Grow Your Business
In the corporate world it is very common for businesses to utilize a SWOT analysis to better understand their positioning in their industry. A SWOT analysis looks at the strengths of a company, the weakness, the opportunities that are out there, and the threats presented by competitors. In Michelle Terpstra’s From Hello To Closed sales strategy course, one of the first exercises she goes over with business owners is the creation of a SWOT analysis. In order to succeed in this, you have to research not only your competitors, but your own business as well. Research is what is going to help you identify the areas in which you are doing great and where improvements can be made. It also gives you an aerial view at where you stand in comparison to your competitors.
Identify Your Ideal Client & Stand Out From Your Competitors
Utilizing research can help you identify your ideal client, as well as ensure your service or product speaks directly to them. You might be surprised to find out how many people are willing to answer your questions when it relates to their pain points and what kind of solutions they’re looking for. If you take all of this information into consideration as you build your business, then you will be speaking directly to your ideal client when you create your content and services. If your competitors aren’t taking the time to do the same thing, you’re definitely going to stand out from the crowd.
Utilizing Research To Launch A Business
I didn’t start off in the podcasting industry, nor did I know what it took to produce a podcast. How did I learn? Research. Whether you are wanting to make a career switch or launch a new business or grow the one you have, research is going to help you get started and grow. From learning about education and courses you should take to the legal aspects and licenses you’ll need to how best to market your business, doing research is what will get you started and ahead in everything.

Nurturing Your Email List with The Email Collection (Wendy & Linda)

Nurturing Your Email List with The Email Collection (Wendy & Linda)

Co-founders of The Email Collection, Linda Sidhu and Wendy Jensen not only both had major career pivots, but have launched a business that is helping entrepreneurs and business owners nurture and grow their email lists. These are two women saw a need in the marketplace when it came to email lists and they are generously sharing their knowledge. I love this episode because we are talking about the things that I didn’t have when I started my business. If you are wondering about funnels, opt-ins, quizzes and nurturing your email list, then this is a must-listen!
It’s time to start and grow your email list...then nurture it!
    What we’re talking about
How Do You Start & Grow An Email List? What Is A Funnel? How A Quiz Opt-In Can Grow Your Email List How Do You Start & Grow An Email List
Where do you start with an email list? Linda and Wendy say that you should first make a decision on what email platform you want to use. Don’t overthink it though! Research a handful and see what resonates with you. Most email platforms will offer a free trial or might be completely free, so try one out because you can always change it down the road.
Once you have your email platform, create a freebie, also known as an opt-in that offers value to your clients and showcases your expertise. Your freebie can be a checklist, guide, quiz or challenge, but make sure it is valuable enough that someone would want to give you their email address in exchange for it.
Next comes your nurture sequence. A nurture sequence is a series of emails in which you convert your leads into customers. It starts with your opt-in and is followed up with an email to remind the subscriber that they’ve downloaded something from you and might even remind them what it is by redirecting them to the download. Strategize your email sequence so that you validate the person is where they should be. You can do this by introducing yourself, sharing recommendations, offering tips and value and finally, allowing them an opportunity to work with you.
    What Is A Funnel?
One of the biggest questions I’ve had and hear from so many others is what exactly is a funnel? Visualize it as a regular funnel. The top is your freebie or opt-in that targets your ideal client. The middle is your nurture sequence in which you are sharing your products, services and about yourself. The bottom is where people will start to become your paying clients. People may drop out of your funnel in the middle and it’s good to remember that this is not only ok, but is good. Your funnel is meant to find your ideal client, so if someone unsubscribes, then they weren’t your ideal client to begin with.
How A Quiz Opt-In Can Grow Your Email List
Have you taken a quiz lately? I know I have and even though I know they are lead magnets, I do them anyway, because they’re fun! Wendy and Linda create quizzes based on personalities. They’ve developed a quiz quadrant for 4 personalities: 1) powerhouse (hey, Beyonce!), 2) people oriented (Lady Gaga and me!), 3) precise (a thinker like Bill Gates), and 4) pleasant (the always sweet Taylor Swift). When you take their quiz, you not only get to find out what your personality is, but you get extra bonuses such as email subject lines and a playlist made just for you! It’s fun and pop-culture, so what’s not to love?! Quizzes are great because they’re also sharable which can grow your email list even more!

Defining Minimalism With Life Minimalist Allie Casazza

Defining Minimalism With Life Minimalist Allie Casazza

Life minimalist and host of the top rated podcast, The Purpose Show, Allie Casazza is encouraging and inspiring women to pursue abundant lives by creating space for what matters most. She’s got fresh, practical lifestyle strategies, is relatable, and honest about what being a minimalist means to her. Allie shares how she turned her blog into a 7 figure empire and didn’t just create a business...she created a movement! We are discussing what it’s like to work with your husband, how your physical health relates to your business, and how taking an aerial view of your life can help you decide how you want to design your life. If you’re ready to take charge of your life and grow personally and professionally, then this is a must-hear episode!
You’re not a rooted tree, so seize the opportunity to do whatever you want!
    What we’re talking about
How Allie Casazza Built An Empire What Being A Minimalist Means To Allie Allie Casazza’s Advice On Starting A Business How Allie Casazza Built An Empire
Allie has built a 7-figure empire and created a movement, not a business. Starting as a blogger, Allie knew she had a message that others needed to hear. In an effort to get her voice out into the world, Allie created a post that she knew would go viral about throwing out her childrens’ toys and how they ended up playing for many more hours utilizing their imagination and truly “playing”. After waking up at 4am and putting in countless hours, Allie’s husband quit his job to spend more time with their four kids which enabled Allie to create the content she wanted to put out into the world. Her post went viral and today she enjoys working 4 days a week for a few hours a day.
What Being A Minimalist Means To Allie
Allie doesn’t consider herself a true minimalist. She doesn’t care about counting socks or pairs of jeans and is definitely NOT a fan of a capsule wardrobe! To Allie, being a minimalist is about having less of what doesn’t matter to you and more of what does. Too much “stuff” causes anxiety and anxiety causes increased stress which increases your cortisol levels and affects your body and mental health. An important reminder is that what takes up your space, takes up your time.
Allie Casazza’s Advice On Starting A Business
Allie’s advice for starting a business is to begin with an aerial view of your life as a whole. Decide on what kind of life you want to design and whether that includes creating content or offering a service to others. Do a brain dump on what you want to do and start doing it. Create the content, write the blog post, hit record and just do it. If you discover it’s not what you want, then choose to pivot. You can do whatever you want to do and it’s up to you to get up and move. You’re not a tree embedded into the fibers of the earth, so feel free to change!
Have you taken the advice of the life minimalist and started to design the life you want?

    Mindset Reset: Mindfulness Challenge

    Mindset Reset: Mindfulness Challenge

Have you ever considered how your mindset might be affecting your entire life? The word and concept of “mindset” is a relatively new one for me, but once I started to work on having a positive mindset in my business, I quickly realized that it’s setting out a positive intention into the world and it actually works. This week I launched a Mindfulness Challenge in which we are resetting our mindsets and creating a new routine that involves meditation, movement, food and more. Now is one of the best times to start working on becoming more mindful of what your actions are doing to affect your life and to create habits that will ensure you are making positive changes. I for one need this challenge more than ever and am so excited to be doing it alongside so many of you!
Are you ready to become more mindful?
    What we’re talking about
What Does Mindset Mean? Recognizing Your Priorities In Life The Mindfulness Challenge What Does Mindset Mean?
The word “mindset” is one that I wasn’t familiar with in the corporate world. When I became an entrepreneur, this word popped up everywhere. I didn’t start to believe in it or actually practice it until I lost my first client. I decided that instead of worrying and being upset over it, I would practice positive thinking and ensuring my mindset was positive. I told myself a bigger client who was a better fit would replace the one I lost and it happened almost instantly. I became a believer in working on my mindset and in the difference it can make it life.
    Recognizing Your Priorities In Life
As I worked on this episode and the mindfulness challenge, my kids interrupted me. They didn’t do it in a small way...they cranked up JT on the TV and demanded a dance party...because no one can stop the feeling! I stopped what I was doing and danced like a crazy person. We sang on the top of our lungs and laughed and had the best time ever. THIS is what my priority in life needs to be and this is what I hope to do more of with this mindfulness challenge. I want to better recognize my priorities and to ensure that I honor them in everything I do.
    The Mindfulness Challenge
The Mindfulness Challenge has kicked off, but you can still join us! We are working on a new exercise everyday that ranges from meditation to cooking to exercise to gratitude and more. By working on one thing every day, we are going to create a new routine in which we practice these things more often. We want to build a routine in which we are grateful for what we have and show our bodies and minds that we are grateful for them as well. It might sound full of woo woo, but I promise you it isn’t!
Who is ready for a mindset reset? Join the challenge!

Sheltering In Place: Finding The Silver Lining

Sheltering In Place: Finding The Silver Lining

There is a lot of sadness, stress, anxiety and unknown going on in our world right now with the COVID-19 pandemic. Outside of watching the nightly news, we aren’t watching regular TV in our house right now. I can’t stand the constant reminders with commercials about the virus and at some point, my brain needs to rest and recharge. Although there is so much to be sad and negative about, I’ve also found there are a lot of positives going on in our world right now. On today’s episode, I’m sharing all of the positives that have come out of coronavirus and sheltering in place for our family.
There’s always a silver lining...we just have to look for it.
    What we’re talking about
Quality Time As A Couple & As A Family Discovering More Time To Be Creative  Becoming Neighbors Instead Of Being Strangers Quality Time As A Couple & As A Family
One of the best things to come out of sheltering in place for over a month has been the quality time we are having as a family and as a couple. Our time together is more intentional with daily family walks and playtime, endless rounds of knock knock jokes, and dance parties. For my husband and I, we are having more of our old movie and cocktail date nights. Our normal Saturday evening date nights are happening more frequently during the week and we’re enjoying more happy hours with each other.
Discovering More Time To Be Creative
Along with being more intentional in our time as a family, we are doing more craft projects with painting and using chalk and even gardening. I’ve also found that I have more time on my hands since we aren’t driving to playdates and with this time, I’ve started to create more content for my audience. I’ve launched a podcast course, am about to launch a pitching mastermind, and have put together more freebies. Finding ways to be creative is such a great outlet, but it’s also allowing me as a business owner to do what I truly enjoy doing.
Becoming Neighbors Instead Of Being Strangers
Do you know your neighbors or are they just strangers? One of the best things I’ve discovered during this pandemic is how strangers are no longer strangers. Whether you are grabbing your essentials at the store with your mask on or taking a walk around the neighborhood, people are smiling and saying hello. This is probably the first time and could be the last time that we are all leading very similar lives. We are all working from home, going to school from home, homeschooling our kids and stay at home as much as possible. We’re forming a new bond that is one based on mutual understanding for what the other is going through and I for one hope this stays with us.
Have you found a silver lining in the coronavirus pandemic?
