Jersey Collective started eight years ago when Kerri Sullivan, a New Jersey librarian, decided to put together a collaborative Instagram account giving photographers and others around the Garden State a place to share their photos of New Jersey. Kerri is publishing a book, New Jersey Fan Club: Artists and Writers Celebrate the Garden State, which is set to release on June 17th, 2022. Kerri discusses how she started Jersey Collective and the purpose behind it. Doing it for the last eight years, it has grown into one of the most popular New Jersey-focused Instagram accounts out there. She talks about some of the cool experiences she's had seeing people's perspectives of what New Jersey has to offer and other things she didn't realize were in New Jersey.
Today in New Jersey History: On March 7, 1950, pro football Hall of Famer Franco Harris was born in Fort Dix, NJ. He graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly, New Jersey in 1968. He played for twelve seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and his thirteenth and final season for the Seattle Seahawks. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.

We discuss how Jersey Collective led into Kerri putting together her book, New Jersey Fan Club: Artists and Writers Celebrate the Garden State. This is an anthology of articles, cartoons, pictures, recipes, and more from different contributors all about New Jersey with over 60 contributors. We learned the thought process behind how she selected these pieces.
New Jersey Fun Fact: Cape May, NJ is the oldest seaside resort in the United States

Jersey Collective and New Jersey Fan Club are both built upon community. Collaborating with other creators around the state has led to some great friendships for Kerri and helped give her the opportunity to write her book. We talked about other great people who are doing great things to shine a light about how many awesome things are in New Jersey.
