Ep. 16 Google and Yahoo Email Marketing Requirement Changes Q1 2024 - Before You Send Your Next Email - Listen to This

Ep. 16 Google and Yahoo Email Marketing Requirement Changes Q1 2024 - Before You Send Your Next Email - Listen to This

With the changes to Google and Yahoo’s email marketing regulations in Q1 of 2024, we thought we would go through the steps and share how to implement the changes for you and/or your clients.

Having a custom domain is the best way to ensure your emails are being delivered to the inboxes of your community. So let’s dive in!

How do you know if this info relates to you:

You use an email marketing platform such as Flodesk, ActiveCampaign, MailChimp, Convertkit, etcetera to communicate with your audience AND are at risk of sending 5,000+ emails in any given 24hour period. -Think you don’t? Growing your business, and even with a small list if a few emails go out, it’s easy to meet this threshold.

    WHEN:

They are non-specific. They are saying February but full changes across all accounts should be in early April. Our suggestion is to act now

    HOW:

    4 things you need:

    1. Email Marketing Platform

    Flodesk
    ActiveCampaign
    Mailchimp
    ConvertKit

    2. Custom Domain (you don’t need to have a website to have a domain)

    GoDaddy
    NameCheap
    Bluehost

    3. Custom Domain Email

    Gsuite
    Through your domain provider
    Outlook/microsoft 365

    4. A place for your audience to unsubscribe with one click (most providers have this built in) + bonus if you give them a way to manage preferences

    If you need more:

Untilize these platforms for even more info

Facebook groups for your email marketing platform
    YouTube
    Your email marketing website FAQ
    Podcasts (heyyyy you’re here!)

It’s so much easier that you realize!

    Resources Mentioned:

Email Marketing providers: We love Flodesk, but ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, and ConvertKit are also great.
Domain providers: GoDaddy, NameCheap, or BlueHost (All three of these have great customer service)
Additionally, to get a GSuite account where your email can come from your domain
Lastly, we found THIS YouTube Video where he gives kind of a bandaid option if you or your client doesn’t want to do a domain yet. However, it seems like that’s just a temporary fix and a domain will be needed over time.

Ep. 15 Falling Back in Love With Your Business

Ep. 15 Falling Back in Love With Your Business

When it’s time to head into work, do you feel like your heels are dug in and you simply… don’t wanna? This episode we go through our top tips for falling back in love with your business, or helping your Virtual Assistant clients fall back in love with theirs!

”Movement Creates Momentum” - Andrea Crowder

    Questions to help:

What’s been made to complicated? How can I simplify?

Is there an area where I may have given up too soon?

Is there something I'm pushing myself to do because it’s industry standard that doesn’t really feel correct for me?

Is it the thing or is it the way?
Does it need a total revamp?
    Does it need dropped?
4 Ds: Delegate, Delay, Delete, or Do?

Is there something wrong with the pricing/delivery/or design of the thing you feel hesitation around?

Grassroots: go to the people. Listen. Talk to people. Friends, family, or peers in your industry may have really great feedback! Start a convo and see what energy fills you as you speak, and what advice, tips, or suggestions they may have (take what resonates, leave what feels dense.)

Practical & Tactical with the feel goods

I love these episodes and as a newer service provider I find especially helpful the wisdom you share with what you’ve learned through your experiences and how to navigate certain things! I’d love an episode about your “daily closing” ritual that you mentioned Lorelei in the burnout/self care episode. That sounds so helpful to have a closing down of work hours so projects or tasks aren’t mentally lingering!
