Being mindful has been very important, especially in situations of high stress. So if you have a stressful event anywhere, your first instinct is to scream and yell and carry on. But if you take a deep breath and view the situation in a different light, it changes your action plan, which changes your outcome.
Thoughts on Breathing
When you take a deep breath and count to ten, that's how long it should take you to breathe in and breathe out. It gives you space between you and what's happening and it also calms all the organs in your body and it brings your dopamine and your adrenaline down. When you do that, you can function better and make better executive decisions.
