Rob is a physician for 20 years, specializing in Critical Care Medicine (ICU medicine), Pulmonary Medicine (Diseases of the lungs) and Sleep Medicine. He is an enthusiast of Wilderness Medicine and enrolled as a Fellow candidate for the Academy of Wilderness Medicine. He is writing a book on where hiking and backpacking meet Wilderness Medicine, and specifically how to avoid trouble in the wilderness through strategies, field skills and preparation.

Ron is a husband, entrepreneur, music lover, and a jack of all trades.

Ron talks about his younger years getting away from the traveling band scene, oil field scene, and his current scene doing what he loves... making guns.
