    Welcome to another episode. Today we have Amber Jackson on the podcast. Amber is a Chicago native  now residing in Rhode Island, with a passion for tea, people, and Black culture.



    In 2019 she launched The Black Leaf Tea & Culture Shop as a way to share her love of tea, engage with the community, and celebrate Black culture.



    Her teas are beautifully blended and a reflection of her background in food science and her interest in nutrition.



    Together we discuss how she started up monthly Young Black Professionals Mixer and Tea Talks, both were ways to create safe spaces for her local Black Community and bring them together for fun and also insightful conversation.

    Mary Lauren Fraser - Casket Weaver, Musician, and Teacher 🎻

    Today’s guest is Mary Lauren Fraser and she is a casket weaver. Using traditional methods of willow weaving, she creates hand made incredible coffins and urns, as a way to support the growing movement of green burials and
    minimizing harsh chemicals and using biodegradable materials.

    She is also a musician and found her way to weaving while traveling around the UK to play fiddle.

    Together we discuss her journey, her process, and a bit about workshops she offers. There is of course mentions of death and funerals in this episode, but I hope it prompts you to be curious and have open communication about these
    topics and the ways we can create a more environmentally friendly process.

    guest. She is a tattoo artist based in Portland, Maine.

    She began her tattoo journey in Vermont and made her way out to Maine where she now co-owns and tattoos at Fortune Teller Tattoo Shop.

    Her specialty is black and grey
    illustrative tattoos and she has some really beautiful work of animals, plants, fish, and you may have seen her oyster shell tattoos online a bit.

    We talk about the challenges and joys of being an artist as well as her love for her dogs and houseplants and exploring the Maine Coast.

    The Tiny Bread
    Box is a small hand built automated self-serve farm stand serving up small batch homemade baked goods made by Natalia in her kitchen.

    Natalia is an Argentine American and brings a bit of that flair to the Bread Box with things like palmeritas and alfajores along with milk breads , sourdoughs, and cinnamon
    rolls.

    Her husband Greg built the Bread Box and together we talk about how they run the business, some challenges they have faced, a bit about their travels and making music in their free time. I hope you enjoy our conversation and get
