The six prophets of Judah, before the exile - Joel, Obadiah, Micah, Nahum, Habakkuk, and Zephaniah - had a terrible message of punishment for sins committed: death by the sword, pestilence and famine, exile for Judah, vengeance on the nations around Israel, and vengeance on the nations who would oppress God's people. But these prophets also had a message of future hope and blessing. In this message, Ron shares four truths about God that we learn from these prophets.

Jerusalem has been surrounded for 18 months, and Jeremiah shares how he feels amid an awful situation. Jeremiah is asking if God has abandoned His people. Is He cruel and maniacal? Jeremiah declares that God is still faithful, but Jeremiah's feelings are real.

Jeremiah is a man of many sorrows who watched his nation go through terrible suffering and be destroyed despite giving multiple warnings. It's a challenging message that will likely lead you to ask how God can justify all of Jeremiah's hardship and pain. This book can also be confusing because it spans many years, isn't chronological, and uses multiple styles of literature. But it's worth working through because it ultimately points to an eternal, good, and patient God.
