Ralph Lamb: His Word Was His Bond
Oscar Goodman, in January's Oscar's Dinner Series, remember Las Vegas' most famous lawman, Clark County Sheriff Ralph Lamb. Oscar says it was a working, respectful relationship - at least as he was concerned. The Sheriff? Not so much. Oscar recalls a successful challenge of the Sheriff's power to confiscate someone's casino work card with no recourse. But he also told the tale of a client who was banned from Vegas, with one exception: to visit The Venetian restaurant on West Sahara to enjoy Angie's Ruvo's famous neck bones. And, as usual, Oscar takes a few questions and gives the questioners a hard time.

Our Greatest Hits, Part One
With four years of podcasts (119 Episodes!), we thought it would be good to look back and share some of our best moments. But there are so many, it will take us three episodes to do it. This one centers on gaming - except for how Jonathan almost didn't make it to Las Vegas thanks to Dyson vacuum cleaners. Also: great stories from Wynn Las Vegas president Marilyn Spiegel, casino superhost Steve Cyr, veteran gambler Billy Walters, Plaza bingo guru Weldon Russell, gambling consultant & author Anthony Curtis and former Golden Nugget owner Tim Poster.
Hosts: Jonathan Jossel, Gary Vickery

The Downtown Grand's Andrew Economon
Downtown Grand GM Andrew Economon has, in his words, worked "both sides of the street" in Las Vegas - for Caesars and for MGM. He's made other stops along The Strip and off The Strip, He now runs the hotel that used to be "Lady Luck." After a long closure, it came back ten years ago as The Downtown Grand. Andrew and Jonathan discuss the challenges and rewards of operating downtown, and the latest efforts to, in Andrew's words, "Make Downtown Great Again." He even has hats with that motto!

Great find!!
This is an excellent podcast. Jonathan and the team pull out fantastic stories and great lessons from the guests. I’ve already listened to a dozen Rosina’s have another dozen qued up. Keep it up Plaza folks!!
Unexplainable
I can’t even begin to explain how much I love this podcast. I went to Vegas the last weekend of March 2023/First days of April 2023 for my mom’s wedding. I stayed at the incredible time machine that is El Cortez, and knew little to nothing about downtown Las Vegas. I have been to LV numerous times as a kid and teen, but hadn’t been as an adult. It has always held a special place in my heart, having lived in the area as a child, and now I can’t wait to visit yearly, if not permanently.
The history of Vegas is so rich and deep, and I feel like On the Corner of Main Street encapsulates all of it with such a vast array of guests. The fact that Jonathan is a host along with Lisa is satisfying and oddly comforting, that a CEO is so laid back and willing to be committing to a podcast about so many things beyond his own hotel. As well as having guests on that are so diverse with so many different perspectives. It would be cool to hear Zak Bagans on the podcast, being a Las Vegas native, who is in a whole different category of the history of the town. That would be a fun episode.
I didn’t discover this podcast until I got home from vacation. So I binged from the beginning, and I can’t wait to go back. I was so bummed I was unaware of EVERYTHING that is DTLV. It’s vastly underrated in my opinion. I’ll be staying at the Plaza next time, no question! Please never stop doing this podcast.
