Part 2 with Pitching Coach Jill Stephens: Fast Pitch Power The Kally V. Podcast: Owning Your Opportunity

    • Sports

Well hello again and thank you for tuning back into my podcast to follow up Part 1 with Coach Jill Stephens!

In part two of my interview with
Pitching Coach Jill Stephens from Fast Pitch Power she shares physical her training
techniques (getting a pitcher to feel their movement)

BOTTOM LINE: Understanding
what the healthy and Optimal mechanics look like before adding anything on to their
pitch.

>>> Pre Motion vs Load

We also discuss foot placement
that is going to allow a pitcher to feel confident and be able to drive off the
mound correctly.  PLUS the mechanical breakdowns
that lead to leaping and crow hopping and share the importance of why these mechanics
need to be fixed for the overall health of the pitcher.

We stress the importance of making
the HEALTH of your players more IMPORTANT than winning the game not just for their
today but for their tomorrow.

Both Jill and I share our own
coaching specific mental training tips along with a couple personal stories of
facing adversity in tournaments and getting injured while not making a play or
pitching the ball.

Jill shares SPECIFIC words of
wisdom from her Dad, Phil Shonberg that he spoke into her after recovering from
an injury and after committing to playing college ball.  Those specific words were exactly what she
needed to hear in that moment and can be used for any pitcher, Coach and Parent
of a pitcher.

We both are very passionate about
what we do as Professional Fastpitch Pitching Coaches and you will grasp this
by listening to this episode.

For more specific break down on
the WHIP, “forearm fire” vs “hello elbow” be sure to watch Part 1 of my
interview with Pitching Coach Jill Stephens from Fast Pitch Power.

Thank you for your support in the
BIG picture to bring coaches together with Coordinated Coaching, an extension of
Kally V. Softball LLC.

Thanks again!
