Critical Catholic Ep 06 - The Boy Who Cried Wolf

D.W. Lafferty, Brett Salkeld, and Mike Lewis discuss what happens when the conspiracy theory gets something partially right. Good, but needs work!

I appreciate the content of this podcast, but there’s always wasted time at the beginning of each episode. There’s an excess of lead in, chit chat... please get to the point. You have lots of good information to share.
As a Catholic woman, mother, educator, I’d like to ask the women in the podcast to step up their meaningful contributions to the topics. There’s one female host (I think it’s Melinda Ribnek) whose silliness and excessive laughter regularly takes away from the effectiveness of this podcast and plays into the stereotypical view of women as less intelligent. PLEASE work on this-it’s a big negative.

First listen

I just found this podcast and am listening to the Vatican II episode. I am struck by the broadcasters justifying their views in the same way that they purport traditionalists (falsely) justify their views. I don’t get the sense that any of them have actually spent time in traditional parishes. As a parishioner at a traditional Latin parish, I don’t recognize any of the descriptions of traditionalists. I was also somewhat offended by the description that there is a place for every kind of view and interest within the church (whether you’re a bookworm, like music, etc.). If the statement was meant to give the impression that the Mass can be flexible, then that’s called Protestantism. Same with the comment about “moving the church forward.” Genuinely interested in hearing a variety of views, but don't think I’ll be looking for them here.

Let them talk!

I’m a long time reader and promoter of WPI. I even contributed an article and hope to contribute more. Your podcasts have a lot of potential. But I often want to interrupt and say “Let them talk!” Mike has the overall vision and inspiration, but the strength of the podcast is Lafferty.
