The Philadelphia Flyers are coming off one of their best seasons in a long time. They fell just short of the Playoffs by 4 points on the last day of the regular season to the Washington Capitals. The bad stretch 2 weeks from the end of the season was pretty much the nail in the coffin for the Flyers playoff hopes. This organization is looking to take another step forward in rebuilding. Who has to be the guy that steps up or takes a massive step forward to lead the Flyers to the Playoffs?
The Flyers offense could be getting some unexpected help possibly sooner than later. Alexander Appleyard and Matvei Michkov could wind up in a Flyers uniform much sooner than anticipated. Michkov drafted 7th overall by the Flyers in the 2023 Draft wasn't expected to be over in America until roughly the 2026/2027 season due to his contract with the KHL.
According to Appleyard, the Flyers and the SKA Chairman have a good relationship which could lead to Michkov coming to Philadelphia as early as this offseason. Will Michkov wear the Orange and Black this coming season?
