Consensus: Science, Rap, and the Search For Truth (Humans of Inner Truth Ep.4‪)‬ Inner Truth with David Newell

    • Society & Culture

Consensus is a song writer, mc, rapper, producer, poet, video editor and the founder of A/V Revolution . He studied as an engineer at degree level and was never musically trained, but attributes the large majority of his artistic talent to his synesthetic ability to 'see' music and concepts among other things.
In 2016/2017 he was invited to the particle physics research facility CERN as part of their creative outreach project, to turn their latest research into music for a mass audience.
His 2017 album ConCERNed bridges the gap between music and particle physics and has been covered in the media on London Live Television, BBC Radio, Ethiopia’s EBC, The Voice Newspaper and Influential blogs.
Through this project he has also given talks & shows at the world famous Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland, Fermilab, Ontario Science Centre and prestigious institutes such as John Hopkin’s University (US), Cambridge and Oxford University in the UK.
Following on from the success of ConCERNed, Consensus has been featured on FT.com, BBC World Service and BBC Radio 1 Xtra performing and talking about the project and how particle physics can teach lessons through hip hop.
In this episode we talk about what’s been discovered at CERN, how he reflects on the nature of reality, science vs. faith, the utility of both, and how it’s all just about appreciation vs explanation.
Enjoy!
