Psycho Lover Vol. 2 Simpin After Dark

    • Music

This is the second annual Halloween special edition episode, Psycho Lover Vol. 2. Master Steph joins me to get into Mariah The Scientist's song, "2 You", from her latest album RY RY WORLD. It has the perfect haunting vibes for this episode, and it's about grieving a relationship that had to end, but looking back and appreciating it for what it meant to her.

Then we dive into attachment theory and how it pertains to relationships. The different attachment styles are secure, anxious, avoidant, and disorganized/fearful avoidant. They all have negative effects on relationships and it's important to become aware of which attachment style you fall under, so that you can take the steps to become more secure. I've been reading the book "Attached" (I'll link it below), and it has a lot of great examples of couples with different dynamics, and of different research and studies that have been done to emphasize the importance of having a secure attachment and how we develop them.

For the past few weeks I've been asking you guys to send in your stories for the "Psycho Lover" segment of this episode, and I got some wild ones. TRIGGER WARNING: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, NARCISSISTIC ABUSE, DRUG USE, ASSAULT/VIOLENCE. Thank you so much to everyone who shared their story, I appreciate you and I'm sending lots of love.
