S01E11 - The Murder of Lyndsey Vaux blackbird: an advocacy podcast

    • True Crime

We often hear intimate partner violence cases being between a man and a woman. We rarely hear the statistics of same sex couples who unfortunately fall into this devastation. According to a 2018 article by Luca Rolle, et. al., over 50% of gay men and nearly 75% of lesbian women reported they had been psychologically abused by an intimate partner. It is also reported that homosexual couples have a lifetime prevalence of IPV similar to or even higher than heterosexual couples. 61.1% of bisexual women, 43.8% of lesbian women, 37.3% of bisexual men, and 26% of gay men reported experiencing IPV in their life. This is compared to 35% of heterosexual women and 29% of heterosexual men.
