It has been quite a week in the markets with plenty of volatility across grains, livestock and outside markets. Demand continues to be a key piece of the conversation along with headline news driving many markets, especially the cattle futures. Chicago and KC wheat futures are leading the continued short covering rally in the grains on Friday while livestock markets are mixed. We also got jobs data out that was lower than analyst expectations on Friday morning. Arlan Suderman, Chief Commodities Economist at StoneX, joins us to discuss.

Soybeans and soybean meal led the grains trade mostly higher on Thursday with December corn also getting above some key moving averages and chart objectives. It was Fed Day on Wednesday as the Federal Reserve held benchmark interest rates steady and gave no indication of when they could start to cut rates. That news, coupled with more bird flu headlines impacting cattle and general volatility surrounding the start of a month led to a mixed trade on the day.
