This past November the Canadian Kettlebell Alliance sent 4 kettlebell sport Canucks to the World Kettlebell Championships held in Hamburg, Germany. The event was host to nearly 550 competitors from 35 different countries.
Out of all teams present - Russia won the competition overall, with Kazakhstan taking 2nd place, and Ukraine coming in 3rd.
Our representatives present for Team Canada were Linda Gilmour, Jean Whitney, and Tijanne Ross of Victoria, BC and Charlie Fornelli from Penticton, BC.
Both Linda and Jean returned home with Bronze medals while Tijanne, a junior, had a top ten finish. Charlie came home with a silver medal in addition to achieving his Master of Sport ranking in Men’s LC.
In this interview I get everyone’s perspective on their first international competition as a team representing the Great White North.
