Where podcasting fits into your marketing strategy.

Where podcasting fits into your marketing strategy.

Just where does your podcast fit into your marketing strategy? While there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to marketing your business, I do have strong opinions on what the best way to go about it is if you, like me, prefer to spend more of your time working on your business instead of marketing it. I know, strong opinions? Me? Shocker right? So in this post I’m going to be sharing my approach to content marketing, where a podcast fits into that, and what the benefits are of following my lead.

    I’m talking:
    - What goes into content marketing
    - The three platform types you need for success
    - Putting together your content marketing strategy
    - Strategic content marketing topics

Why I prefer audio content to market my business (aka audio vs video)

Why I prefer audio content to market my business (aka audio vs video)

The biggest challenge I see my clients facing is figuring out how to market their business without the marketing turning into a full time job all on its own. Content marketing is a Big Deal, but it’s easy to become overwhelmed. Throw video into the mix and things can become … demanding, which is why I’m sharing my thoughts on what is essentially audio vs video.

    I’m talking:
    - Why everyone says video is so important
    - Why long form video isn’t actually important
    - The benefits (and joys) of audio content
    - Balancing your content formats for greater success

Lessons learned from an unplanned podcasting break.

Lessons learned from an unplanned podcasting break.

So I accidentally took 3 months off from everything except client work without telling anyone Taking time off when needed is something I believe in big time, just disappearing isn’t. So for that, I apologise. But it lit a fire under my arse for this episode because there’s ways I think a break, planned or unplanned, should be handled and I failed to do any of it. Hindsight (and learning) is 20/20.

    I’m talking:
    - incentivising your return to podcasting
    - managing expectations
    - apologising taking a break

Choosing the right podcast format for your business goals.

Choosing the right podcast format for your business goals.

We don’t have any stats on the structure of business podcasts, at least none that I could find after an exhaustive two minute Google search, so I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that 86.3% of all business podcasts use the interview format. I mean, don’t take my word for it because I just pulled that number out of thin air , but it feels like you can’t scroll through a podcast directory without falling over interview shows.

If you’re new to podcasting and are wondering what format to use for yours, it can be easy to follow the crowd because they must know something you don’t, right? So in this post I’m walking you through how to pick the best format for your podcast so that by the end you’ll be able to confidently choose what format, or formats, you’re going to use for your show that’ll help with your business.

    I’m talking:
    - What exactly is a podcast format
    - The three podcast formats I recommend for business owners
    - How the Interview format really gets you results
    - When you want to take advantage of the Solo format
    - How the Co-Hosted format makes your audience feel about you

Exactly what I needed to hear

Podette has been a life saver! I found Podette after launching my first episode last week and, Tors has shown me there’s so much more to consider than the obvious choices of what mic and host to use. I’ve consumed every episode in 48 hours and my only complaint is that there aren’t more of them. Absolutely brilliant, actionable, and entertaining. Can’t wait for the next episode!

Brilliant!

This podette has been so helpful! I’m a newbie podcaster and these short, impactful episodes have not only been super helpful, but they have saved me time and stress in preventing me from wasting valuable energy on the stuff that doesn’t move the needle in my overarching podcast goals. These episodes help center my strategy and approach and give me confidence! Thanks Tors!
