Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 4 Episode 5: “The Constant”

Lost: Down the Hatch | Season 4 Episode 5: “The Constant”

Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and Mike Bloom (@AMikeBloomType) have reached the best episode of “LOST,” full stop.

In “The Constant,” Desmond Hume trips through time on a journey toward his lost love Penny Widmore. It’s a mind-bending love story, one that stands the test of time and one that stands out as not just the best episode of “LOST,” but one of the best episodes of television, ever. Does it hold up to that billing? Josh and Mike dig into it all.

    About Down the Hatch …

LOST: Down the Hatch is a full-tilt spoiler-filled rewatch of LOST. Every week, Josh and Mike break down an episode of LOST with the benefit of knowing the series’ full trajectory, using the following structure as a guide:

    • We Go “Fourth” – Josh and Mike begin each podcast with a deep-dive into the story both in front of and behind the camera, and they do so with the assistance of eight sound clips from each episode.

    • The Others – Josh and Mike answer questions sent their way by listeners through the official e-mail address: downthehatch@postshowrecaps.com

    • 23 Points – Each week, Josh and Mike hand out points for the best and worst characters of the episode in question, in a foolhardy attempt to determine the most and least valuable players in the LOST pantheon.

    • 4.2 Stars – Josh and Mike rank every episode of LOST, by rating them all on a scale from 0 – 4.2. Josh and Mike offer their individual scores, listeners’ scores will be averaged as a third data point, then the three points combine as the podcast’s official score on each episode.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones Debates + Feedback | A Long Time to Go

We have a long time to go in the galaxy far, far away, as Post Show Recaps continues forward with regular “Star Wars” content.

Hosted by Josh Wigler (@roundhoward) and rotating guests, “A Long Time to Go” treks through the galaxy far, far away over the course of many months, with various corners of the “Star Wars” extended universe highlighted in the process. The podcast will cover one project per month in the form of various different podcasts: ridiculous recaps, sharp analytical debates, and feedback episodes, to name a few of the different shenanigans afoot.

In this week’s podcast, LaTonya Starks (@lkstarks) and Kevin Mahadeo (@KevMahadeo) join the show for one last look at “Attack of the Clones.” A hybrid debate over the movie (one side likes it, one side does not) meets an instant feedback show, this Star Wars podcast … well, it just has it all, doesn’t it?

Coming next: “Clone Wars” time! In March, we will release one “Clone Wars” podcast designed for both longtime fans of the show and newcomers as well. Keep an eye out!

Send it to starwars@postshowrecaps.com or sign up for the Post Show Recaps patron discord at patreon.com/postshowrecaps.

AANG IN THERE: Avatar The Last Airbender Book 2 Episode 6 “The Blind Bandit”

Jacob Redmon (@jkredmon) feels pretty blind recapping Book 2 Episode 6 of Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Blind Bandit, without Zak. Luckily, Navi is there to bring an expert Zak impression, stories about John Cena, and her Blue belt background. Together they recap the episode and so much more.

Afterwards, Jacob and Navi tackle listener feedback, rank the episode, and sort Phineas and Ferb characters into bending classes.

Next week, Zak and Jacob will be joined by Felipe Chamon and sort Sesame Street Characters into bending classes.

    About Aang in There …

Aang in There is a spoiler-filled rewatch of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Every week, Zak and Jacob break down an episode of ATLA with the benefit of knowing the whole universe of Avatar. We also include the following segments:

    * Episode Recap – Zak and Jacob start by giving an in-depth breakdown of all the plot points and minor details from the episode.

    * Feedback – Zak and Jacob go through listener feedback and answer the questions or comments written into their official email: avatar@postshowrecaps.com

    * Episode Rankings – Zak and Jacob will create an official Aang in There ranking of every episode of ATLA, by rating them all on a scale from 0-4. Zak and Jacob will give their own scores, plus the listeners’ scores will be averaged and added as the third point. Then, the three scores will be combined to create the official podcast score for each episode!

    * Battle of the Battles – Zak and Jacob will rank the Battles similar to the episode rankings. Each battle will be ranked from 0-4 and Zak, Jacob, and the listener’s scores will be averaged together to get the official Battle Rankings.
