Dog Whistles: Strategies of Socially Acceptable Racism in the Modern GOP

In this episode, I explore Dog Whistles as a concept, and as a political tactic used by the GOP since the Nixon campaign to court racist voters. There are things we can do to combat these racist tactics, which I discuss at the end of the episode.

Truth in the 21st Century, a threat to Public Safety

Truth in the 21st Century, a threat to Public Safety

In this episode, I dive through some of the challenges that are presented to a notion of objective truth. Having done that, I tell the story of how a safe space was created for white America that has led to the public being asked to try disinfectants instead of vaccines.

    Class in Times of Crisis

    Class in Times of Crisis

In this episode, I propose a class-based analysis of the COVID 19 crisis. Having done that, I use Ellen DeGeneres as an example of how we get talked into really awful ideas through false consciousness.

Got me through my quarantine anxiety

The deep analysis of concepts such as our purpose beyond what we do to make money, the blurred boundaries between home and work during COVID-19, and the idea of redefining ourselves away from work are just a few of the topics on The Praxeum that got me through isolation.

That being said, the main reason why I value this podcast so much is because it exposes me to authors, thinkers, and concepts that I wouldn’t normally be aware of or as familiar with through my own field of Computer Science, but that are so valuable to have in our toolbox as thinking individuals. Moreover, the extensive list of resources and free books in the show notes are an excellent added bonus.
