Children of Light: Embracing Our Inheritance in Christ with Pastor Dan Harrison

Children of Light: Embracing Our Inheritance in Christ with Pastor Dan Harrison

In today's Sunday morning sermon, Lead Pastor Dan Harrison delivers a compelling message on the importance of our inheritance in Christ Jesus and how it impacts issues within the church. Continuing his series, Pastor Dan explains how the Apostle Paul wrote to the church of Ephesus, a city once driven by paganism. As the light of Christ spread, God's works began to transform the city's economy. Today's sermon is titled, "Children of Light."

Drawing from Ephesians 5:3-21, Pastor Dan explores how Paul warns against engaging in immoral behaviors like sexual immorality, impurity, and greed, emphasizing that these have no place among God's people. Instead, believers are encouraged to practice goodness, righteousness, and truth. The passage stresses the importance of exposing deeds of darkness and living wisely, making the most of every opportunity. Paul urges believers to be filled with the Spirit, worship together, give thanks to God, and submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Pastor Dan reflects on the Disney classic "The Lion King," where Simba, living in exile, is reminded in a vision, "Remember who you are." Similarly, Pastor Dan reminds us that as believers, we have power and authority over darkness. He emphasizes that we must not participate in what we used to do but instead live boldly in Christ, drawing darkness into the light through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let's lean in as Pastor Dan shares what it means to be "Children of Light," enjoying the greater pleasures found in the Spirit rather than the world. Ask God to open your heart to receive this transformative word today.

Drawing from Ephesians 4:17-5:2, Pastor Dan explores how the Apostle Paul instructs believers to no longer live as Gentiles, who are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God. Body Building: Strengthening the Church from Within

Body Building: Strengthening the Church from Within

In today's Sunday morning sermon, Lead Pastor Dan Harrison brings us a powerful message on the importance of "Body Building" within the church. Over the next few weeks, Pastor Dan will reaffirm who we are as a church, referencing our core values along the way. Today's sermon, titled “Body Building,” is based on Ephesians 4:11-16, where the Apostle Paul explains the roles and purposes of different ministry gifts within the church and their contributions to spiritual maturity and unity.

Paul describes how Christ gave apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers for works of service. This equipping builds up the body of Christ until we all reach unity in faith and knowledge of the Son of God, achieving spiritual maturity and the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Dan begins the sermon with two key questions: Whose job is it to do "ministry"? and Where is Ravenna Assembly of God located? Reflecting on his ministry experience, Pastor Dan emphasizes that when God gives you a vision, you need to move on it. Don’t run from it or pass it off; doing so robs you of the blessing. God has called all of us to do ministry.

Let’s lean in as Pastor Dan shares how we are to build the body of Christ. Ask God to open your heart to receive this word today.

4 Words That Changed the World: Answering God's Call with Pastor Dan Harrison

4 Words That Changed the World: Answering God's Call with Pastor Dan Harrison

In today's Sunday morning sermon, Lead Pastor Dan Harrison delivers a powerful message on answering the call of God, titled "4 Words That Changed the World." Drawing from Acts 9:1-19, Pastor Dan explores the dramatic conversion of Saul, later known as Paul. Once a fierce persecutor of Christians, Saul's journey to Damascus is interrupted by a blinding light from heaven and the voice of Jesus asking, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?"

Blinded and humbled, Saul is led into Damascus, where a disciple named Ananias receives a vision from the Lord, calling out, "Ananias." When he responds, "Here I am, Lord," Ananias becomes a pivotal part of Saul's transformation. By laying hands on Saul, Ananias restores his sight, and Saul is baptized, marking his transformation from a persecutor to a devoted apostle of Christ who would go on to reach thousands.

Pastor Dan emphasizes the importance of answering God's call in our own lives. There may be people around us whom God cannot reach without our obedience. As we open our hearts and minds to God's call and respond with "Here I am, Lord," we too can witness the supernatural become possible and see God work through us to fulfill His plan.

Join us in this inspiring sermon as Pastor Dan Harrison encourages us to be active participants in God's mission. Let's allow God to transform us from the inside out and embrace the incredible changes He can bring about in our lives and the lives of others.
