I Found Christ

I was saved at this church. After I was saved I went back and listened to every sermon and I felt like I knew Kevin, even though we had never met. I was intimidated by this man of God who so deeply would convict me in all his sermons. He also had this knack for being emotional and interacting with the text in amazing way. This is not a boast for him but rather God, using this man in miraculous ways. I moved to Fort Worth to go to the seminary about a year after I was saved because this church preaches a community that does not sit still but one that advances the gospel. Often I have looked foreword to weeks were I get to return.

"God is a Social Justice Warrior"

God Shall Arise - July 31st - This was the sermon that pushed me to write this. I certainly do not intend to hurt anyone. But these things must be said.

It's clear to me now that this church is now more concerned with spreading their truth and not His truth. The elders of this church clearly plant their flag in identity politics and systematic oppression. They let this misleading victimized rhetoric flow out of his mouth in recent sermons. Their narrative aligns more with CNN than the gospel.

In a recent sermon the paster goes as far as saying we need to recognize our "communal identity" i.e. your city and race defines you, not Christ. The paster is determined to lump everyone into a victimized group and he twists and manipulates scripture to convince others this is good. The underlining theme of Malachi is that God wants you to take responsibility for your own actions - not to stand up for an "oppressed" group of individuals because of the actions of other.

In the sermon posted on July 31st Bryan King used the words "oppressed" and "injustice" together 30+ times and made the ridiculous claim that God is a "social justice warrior." Yes, according to Bryan - God is the same as the SJW's that deny scientific fact and claim "there are not 2 genders, there is a spectrum including trans, non-binary, gender fluid, etc." God (if he was a true SJW) also believes abortion should be a constitutional right. Not only does Bryan claim God is an SJW, he says we give up on the "sending thoughts and prayers" and we "need to be activists." Protesting is not a great way to cultivate the city for the greater good. Maybe you could urge people to write letters to the Missouri senator or urge folks to contact their representative? And maybe do that when your not behind the pulpit?

If this church leans more into the false ideology of victimization, I fear it will cause a clear as day divide in the body of the church (reflecting the current state of America). My hope is that someone reads this and takes it serious.
