God is much more committed to building godly joy and happiness in his children than we are to finding it. One of his ways of doing this is by seeing to it that we walk through enough trouble to make us give up on finding our joy in a trouble-free life. Get to know the passages in the Bible that teach this. Romans 5:3–5 -

The name of Jesus, who saves His people from their sins, denotes all the power of the mighty Creator Himself. Jesus gives believers the authority to serve, work, and pray in His name when we do so, believing in Jesus’ saving power and desiring God’s will. Jesus, with the authority of the Father, exercised power to save sinners, and His name is the only name we can call on for salvation (Acts 4:12). As adopted sons and daughters into God’s family, Christians experience God’s saving grace through faith in the Person of Jesus. When we call on Him, we participate in His power and find that “the name of the LORD is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). -

Our Triune God knows relationships more than any mortal expert.
When I am more interested in the other person than in presenting myself as interesting when I listen to understand and not just to reply, how many more relationships could I nurture? How many angry altercations could I avoid? How many more people would see the light of Jesus in me? -

Self-talk is a mechanism of our reasoning that includes mental dialogues that can be quite complex. The dialogue can originate solely within our mind, or be influenced by external experiences or discussions. Sometimes, these dialogues are pleasant, and sometimes not. And they can approximate reality or be pure fantasy.
Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Cor 10:3-5)

The Power of the Tongue
We must make no mistake about it: though one of the smaller parts of our body, our tongue is one of the most powerful forces for good or evil in our marriage.
Indeed, the book of Proverbs teaches us that “death and life are in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).
