First time in forever I've learned new things about the Bible

The speaker Josh has a fantastic way of framing and adding context to stories of God and humanity by doing more than rehashing the popular Christian authors of the day. He does research into the writings of ancient rabbis and theologians who understood this stuff in ways that transcend time, while also recognizing the cultural context of the stories and many traditions later laid down by churches so that we today can understand where our place is in all this, and how just like at any point in the past, God's not asking his followers to segregate off in bubbles, but to add to the lives of the people around us, primarily through service. Resonate's motto is "a church who don't have it all figured out, because neither do we>" That kind of humility is a great place to start when trying to connect with folks.

I attend Resonate's gatherings in Santa Monica, California, and have been challenged by the open reframing of what a faith in God through Jesus can and should look like in how we treat those around us. They welcome all with no prerequisites. It's not a place for everyone to have to agree, just to love and respect once another.
