Restoration Church exists to connect people to God, to each other, and to a purpose that impacts the world. We believe God continually rescues us and invites us to live a better story.
A Beautiful Resistance: Sacrifice Must Resist Privilege
Join Pastor Josh Yerton as we discuss how sacrifice must resist privilege. Privilege is simply what you have, what ever status or resources you have whether they are earned or not and, we must resist using our privilege for our advantage. We must submit to one another out of reverence like Christ did for us and fight FOR one another instead of against one another.
Honor Resists Throwing Shade
"Throwing shade" has become a national pastime of ours. We love to criticise, dismiss, and diminish those with whom we disagree. But what would it look like to bring honor to those we know, even disagree with, instead of throwing shade or diminishing them? What if part of God's call on our lives is to see the glory in every person, and speak into it? Join Pastor Josh Yerton as we discuss what a "Culture of Honor" could look like!
A Beautiful Resistance: Pockets of Grace
We are called to be salt and light and show God's grace and love to all. Let us resist the culture of hate today and show love.
A Beautiful Resistance: Hunger Must Resist Apathy
The idea of fasting from food is a radical idea in today's world of constant social medial food posts and the culture of eating out. What if we actually fasted like Jesus and his disciples did? When we take food out of the equation, we turn the volume of God up.
A Beautiful Resistance: Resting in God
We continue our fall series called a Beautiful Resistance and this week we discuss learning to rest in God. As Ferris Bueller said in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, "Life moves pretty fast, if you don't stop and look around every once in a while you could miss it." We will learn that God requires us to rest and resist going back to hectic.
A Beautiful Resistance
We live in a culture that is becoming increasingly shallow, course, and empty. It's shaping us, and the results are not good. We're more stressed, less content, more tired, less compassionate, more in debt, and less satisfied. As followers of Jesus, we must forge a healthy resistance to the "patterns of this world," and find a bigger 'yes' burning inside. Jesus is inviting His church to rediscover the beauty for which we were created.
