    Michael Anastasio: https://www.amazon.com/Gay-Boys-Life-Surviving-America/dp/B099HX1SPZ

Born in Louisville, KY on September 4, Michael Anastasio lived there until 1975 when he relocated to Indianapolis for nearly four years, then on to Chicago for another four, then nearly three years in San Francisco, Boston for another ten, and for the past twenty-seven years, New York City. I have had a near fifty year career as a retail store and residential interior designer. That is a long time to do anything. It is no longer his passion and try as he may to pull out, his clients keep dragging him back in. Writing is his primary interest now. He has co-authored a few screenplays and has written a book, “Gay Boy’s Life,” which he self-published on Amazon in July of 2021 just ahead of his 70th birthday.  While writing is Michael's current passion, he admits to having been slightly bitten by the acting bug. I have made eight videos for an NBC/Comcast site called “I’m From Driftwood.”  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLssNIALOFZCSJAcAf6_UijlaiHtH0Bend I currently live in Greenwich Village with Richard, my husband of twenty-two years. We have been married for six of those years. Together with two other filmmakers, they run The Greenwich Village Film Festival. They are very active in their block association of which Richard is President. They travel quite frequently to Europe and have a large international group of friends—a family really.

With a new season of the arts finally happening and audiences back in theaters, concert halls and museums, we wanted to explore how Al Hirschfeld viewed a new season. What did he draw, and what does it tell us about that season? For more than sixty years, Hirschfeld showed us the people and the productions we should look for as the season unfolded. Ten times over twelve years, Hirschfeld produced the faces of the new season as the cover of special sections for the paper that covered, theater, film, dance, television, music and the visual arts. David Leopold is an author and curator who has organized exhibitions for institutions around the country including the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, the Norman Rockwell Museum at Stockbridge, and the Field Museum in Chicago. Internationally, he has curated shows for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Filmmuseum in Frankfurt and Berlin. He organized the archive of Al Hirschfeld’s work for the artist, visiting Hirschfeld in his studio at least once a week for thirteen years until the artist’s death in 2003. Leopold is now the Creative Director for the Al Hirschfeld Foundation. His latest book, The Hirschfeld Century: A Portrait of the Artist and His Age, published by Alfred A. Knopf to coincide with a major retrospective that Leopold curated for the New York Historical Society has won universal acclaim. He has also authored a number of monographs on under-appreciated artists for various museums.

Richard Skipper is just the best!

During one hour conversations with these great artists (and sometimes, those you haven’t heard of yet), Richard manages to bring out the very essence of these peoples interests and careers. You can learn about, say, the PERSON Ruta Lee, not just the actress!! Through his warm and kind personality, he brings the best out of his interviewees. I will forever be honored to have been celebrated myself—it was one of the best days of my life!

The greatest guest on the greatest show/podcast!

If you hesitate - what kind of music to listen to and which one is really significant - please listen to the podacst with Charles Kirsch.
The host Richard Skipper ( I know him for a long time) is an amazing host, who bring you into the world of this young (very young!) guy, who loves and perfectly knows Broadway and the classical Americans songs.
You will fall in love with Broadway tunes and will recognize a young talent!
