This part of Ridgewood lies east of Route 17 and exists somewhat apart from the rest of the village. At the same time, it is located near what was originally Ridgewood's center, and reflects its colonial past. The tour includes several historic houses, including the Zabriskie-Schedler house, along with a footbridge over the Saddle River. A subset of this area, known as Salem Ridge, was developed in the 1950’s.
