Very One Sided Podcast

Interesting podcast series but you do need to understand this is 50% informative and 50% political and misleading messaging from a salmon industry lobbyist on salmon farming in BC. Worth a listen, but understand that the controversy the speaker barely touches upon have to do with salmon farming’s severe negative impact on wild salmon survival. And the industry’s lack of any real mitigation of their impacts. Use this as a prompt to do your own reading.

Update on 12/20/23 - after listening for another 3 months of new episodes, they provide some great industry insights but mostly just complain about people asking questions about their industry. They have yet to address issues around the impacts of sea lice on wild salmon stocks, or the concentration of waste products that are not treated. They just spend atleast half of every episode trying to convince everyone that they are safe, have no impacts, and that their farmed salmon is a healthful product. May or may not be true but they never touch on the negatives of their form of industrial farming. Not necessarily expecting them to given this is an industry podcast but take what they say as just one part of the discussion.
