Kick Back and Enjoy the Banter

Started with the Samurai Jack episodes, and can’t wait to listen to previous episodes. Andy, Austin and Rory have great rapport and the show quality is top notch. Love their intros and improvised promos! Plenty to geek out about, full of nostalgia, and will leave you wanting to go back and watch these shows. Kick back, you’re amongst friends here!

This podcast rocks!

SMT has easily become one of my favorite podcasts! Andy, Austin and Rory bring the funnies every week with an in-depth look at select animated shows from our childhoods and garnish it with a whole lot of excellent side banter and commentary. Their intros are well mixed and fun (shoutout to their talented producer Kyle), the production value and clarity of tone and voice is top notch and all three hosts flow naturally in conversation without awkward pauses and talking over each other. Their friendship with one another and their history of theater/stage/comedy writing is a huge strength that’s apparent with every episode. I might be bias on this (as I was a guest once) but they do a great job of bringing guests with different backgrounds and experiences on their show to break down gender/social aspects of shows and laugh at the various levels of absurdity.

Another huge draw to this podcast is their “sponsors/ads” bit in every episode where one host springs a random object or subject on another host and they spend a few moments trying to improv the details. It’s such a fun, hilarious and interesting way to deliver new forms of content.

I can’t recommend this podcast enough! Give it a listen, you’ll love it!
