Seahawks Clip Falcons Wings / Tee Up Patriots

Seahawks fans, welcome in to the Seahawks Playbook Podcast! Your weekly Seahawks show featuring Hosts Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers as we get you all caught up with team news and talk Seahawks football. Up this week, we finally played actual honest to goodness professional football. Not only did we play, we played extremely well in the first game of the season vs the Atlanta Falcons, winning handily by a score of 38 to 25. The defense had a solid outing highlighted by the exemplary play of new Seahawks Safety, Jamal Adams. The real damage was done on the offense, led by all-pro, and the NFL's Offensive Player of the Week, Russell Wilson, who had one of his most efficient and best games as a pro. Wilson completed 31/35 passes for 322 yards, 4 TD's and a passer rating of 143.1. Wilson became just the second quarterback in league history to throw at least 35 passes, complete at least 30 of those, have over 300 yards and have at least 4 touchdowns. (Drew Brees, 2011 vs Ind.)

It was a great way to kick off the 2020 season and Bill and Keith recap the highlights. We also preview week two's contest against the New England Patriots. This contest features the two oldest, and best coaches in the league in Bill Belichick and Pete Carroll. The combined age of the two coaches is 137 years and 162 days. The oldest combined age for any coached game in NFL history! Crazy. The game will also feature a contest between Russell Wilson and Cam Newton, whom the Patriots signed this off-season to take over the QB spot vacated by Tom Brady. New England likes to feature the ground game, with Cam Newton rushing 15 times in the first week. Will Seattle opt to run the ball more aggressively this week and stay away from the strength of the Patriots roster, their secondary? Time will tell, but Both Keith and Bill have the Seahawks taking this home opener in Seattle.

    Roster Analysis

    Roster Analysis

Seahawks fans, welcome back to the Seahawks Playbook Podcast. In this week's show, Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers examine the completed 53-man roster as we are finally ready to go, before the regular season opener against the Atlanta Falcons this coming Sunday. It truly seems like forever since any of us have seen football actually being played by two opposing teams. But we made it! And thank you for sticking with us this entire off-season. It's been the most challenging off-season in the 44 year history of the franchise. It's been difficult for everyone on a whole host of Non-football related issues. The players and coaches have worked so hard to get to this moment, so we are grateful to be able to get this thing going, on time and with a full schedule.

Next week don't forget to join us for a full recap show as well as a preview of the 2nd week showdown against the New England Patriots and new Quarterback, Cam Newton.

I have us breaking through this season to once again reach the division title, while Keith Is one game behind me. Will that still be enough in the end to get us the division and a first round bye? Or do we limp into the playoffs as a wildcard again and fight on the road to get playoff wins? Listen to the show and find out!

Training Camp Week 3 / Offensive Line

Seahawks fans wherever you may be, welcome back to our latest edition of the Seahawks Playbook Podcast. Join Bill Alvstad and Keith Myers as we catch you up on Seahawks training camp and talk Seahawks football! We have reached the 3rd week of camp and the players are finally in full pad workouts. This is our first chance to see the team in helmets and pads, although, Seahawks.com is only live streaming the first hour of warmups with little in the way of actual drills or full contact shown to the public. They have also put restrictions on the credentialed media that limits the information they can publish about players actually working out, running drills and live contact. It's less than optimal this year with no fan attendance at the VMac, but we are all in the same boat. None the less, we are able to pass along all the up to date information we do have as well as discuss the current state of the offensive line in this episode.

Make sure you join us next week as we will be able to discuss what we do see from the live scrimmage the team will hold at Century Link Field on Tuesday the 25th.
