If you love the KGB you will love this podcast!

I am a big fan of spying and Russian history. This podcast is well researched and explained and it is very enjoyable to listen to!

Well researched, common narrative

So far I’m up to the CHEKA and I’ve enjoyed each episode. The creator is well read and researched in this field. He doesn’t constrain the listener strictly to “the secret police” aspect, but gives an overall geo-strategic assessment of the society and times these idols of tyranny are born into.

Raw, Real, and Riveting

The Secret Police Podcast covers the depraved and inhumane history of Russian and Soviet secret police. While the content seems-not for the faint of heart (see episode 3 the Cheka), Jack delivers in a way that captures the imagination adding in a bit of humor (and sound effects) for good measure. Jack covers the various iterations of secret police spanning centuries. While their names have changed, their ruthless barbarism never ceases to horrify the listener. From frozen human statues to one way trips to the Lubyanka, one can’t help but be transported to these torturous environments where for brief moments, one can feel what it could have been like. These episodes as short and easily digestible allowing the listener to ponder the content for days. I highly recommend giving the Secret Police a listen. I eagerly await what Jack has in store for this podcast. Five Stars!
