    Jamaica Cottage Shop (Tiny Homes)

    Jamaica Cottage Shop (Tiny Homes)

In this episode on the Shed Geek Podcast, we talk with Domenic Mangano (CEO) of Jamaica Cottage Shop.

Originally based out of Jamaica, Vermont— Jamaica Cottage Shop, Inc. was founded in 1995.
With a humble start and wide support from the local community, they went from a one man show to the hustling,-bustling business we are today.

Domenic founded Jamaica Cottage Shop in 1995. Starting with dog houses, he expanded his skill set to post and beam cottages and sheds, learning about different building techniques while traveling all over the United States.

Over time he grew the company from eight employees up to over eighty, with a catalog of over one-hundred building designs. His knowledge of the post and beam building industry is an accumulation of life experience and a business degree from Green Mountain College, where he graduated in 1991.

As the President of Jamaica Cottage Shop Domenic enjoys working as the Senior Designer and expanding the company with a robust marketing program. In 2019 Jamaica Cottage Shop was recognized as the third fastest-growing company in Vermont by The Vermont Business Growth Awards and made the Inc. 5000 Most Successful Private Companies in America List.

When Domenic is not planning his next cottage design he can be found snowmobiling or four-wheeling out in the wilderness, following Phish, or enhancing his rustic homestead in Northern Maine.

Union Grove Lumber - Erica Goodnight (CEO)

Union Grove Lumber - Erica Goodnight (CEO)

On this episode of the podcast, the Geeks talk with Union Grove Lumber! With all the demand of 2020 and 2021, we get into the details of what pricing looks like and where it is going.

When they started, Union Grove Lumber saw a need in their local community of barn builders for a supplier of wholesale lumber products. As they began to focus on this niche industry, they realized there wasn’t just a need for a supplier locally, but also nationally. Rather than trying to supply lumber for every purpose, they are hyper focused on supplying the best products on the market specifically for the shed industry.
While the company has grown just as exponentially as the industry they cater to, UGL prides themselves on customer loyalty and quality service while remaining faithful to the community where Union Grove Lumber, Inc. began.
If you have a question or concern, feel free to contact their office during operating hours. You will always receive one-on-one attention when you work with Union Grove Lumber. They’ll be there to answer the phone and discuss your concerns. UGL follows your order from the moment you place it with them to the day it’s delivered to you, so you can always call them for an update on your order.
