Family Seeking Help Through DSS And Destroyed In Cabarrus County, NC; With Jerry Anderson

Family Seeking Help Through DSS And Destroyed In Cabarrus County, NC; With Jerry Anderson

    Send us a Text Message.
Slam the Gavel welcomes Jerry and Jeeter Anderson to the podcast. They have been seriously wronged in Cabarrus County, North Carolina. Mr. Jerry Anderson, a VETERAN, was only seeking help for his daughter with mental health issues in 2016.
He called on DSS for help and that's when the destruction of his family began, including the removal of his granddaughter who was quickly adopted out. Through the family court process, Judge Christy Wilhelm and DSS, took his daughter's daughter away from her which caused her to rapidly decline. She passed in 2017. Mr. Anderson wants answers.
Recently in March, Mr. Anderson was court watching on a case with Judge N. Knust with Attorney Jay White present in the courtroom. They announced they were going into recess and were going to close the courtroom. Mr. Anderson spoke out asking, why the court watchers can't come in. The court looked irritated. Also, Mr. Anderson saw a caseworker that was on his daughter's case and called her a liar. Attorney Jay White  spoke with Judge Knust and decided to put Mr. Anderson, age 70,  in handcuffs. He explained to the judge that he got emotional and apologized. Judge Knust held him in contempt for FOUR DAYS in the Cabarrus County Jail, which is underground, and Mr. Anderson suffered Human Rights Violations at that time. He didn't eat for four days due to questionable food and on the last day they kept the lights onand put the air-conditioning on him. Mr. Anderson, 70 years old and a VETERAN, froze on his last night in prison.
There was no compassion in this courtroom.

Lop-Sided Financial Crisis, Red Flags Of Abuse And Never Give Up; With Melissa Vagle

Lop-Sided Financial Crisis, Red Flags Of Abuse And Never Give Up; With Melissa Vagle

    Send us a Text Message.
Slam the Gavel welcomes back Melissa Vagle to the podcast. She was last on the podcast October 18, 2023, Season 4, Episode 16. Melissa is a mother with three children and has served in the Army National Guard for almost six years when she met her second husband while she was still a soldier.  At only 22 years of age when they met there were the red flags that went unrecognized prior to their marriage that lasted 20 years.
Still going through a grueling divorce that has take over three years, Melissa has had the same judge preside over it. Melissa had to rethink her future soon after her mother died in August 2019 and decided to file for divorce when her ex-husband stated not only to Melissa, but to the children as well, that her mother, "deserved it."
Wanting to learn more about the system, Melissa wanted to help others with their cases, so she became a Notary Public and then a Certified Paralegal with the goal to be an ADVOCATE in these areas.
Two of her children have special needs and her other child has mental health issues. Melissa states that going through her long divorce and now SEPARATION ABUSE has shown her so much and that there is zero support from family, however there is from close friends.
Melissa encourages others to, self reflect,  "ALWAYS GO WITH YOUR GUT," and never, never give up.

TIME TAKEN TIME BACK, Custodial Interference And Badmouthing With Robert Garza

TIME TAKEN TIME BACK, Custodial Interference And Badmouthing With Robert Garza

    Send us a Text Message.
Slam the Gavel welcomes Robert Garza to the podcast. Robert Garza and his family has gone through 10 plus years of family court costing $700,000.00 and suffered through 43 plus false allegations.
We talked about how long it took him to get his Senate Bill 718 passed as a Pro Se Litigant, and how he did it. When the family court is taking away an unalienable parental right (Violating the 5th and 14th Amendments), based on a "PRECAUTION" and when they return the child, they SHALL return the TIME that was LOST.
This NEW law stops the behavior BEFORE the FALSE ALLEGATION is ever made. This bill went through unanimously and bipartisan AND on the first time. Robert got the news that the Governor signed off on the bill on Father's Day.
The bigger travesty is that while going through 43 plus allegations, CPS's time was being wasted when they could have been helping children that really needed the help, as well as the District Attorney's office and the court system's time was wasted   along with TAXPAYER DOLLARS. This bill STOPS the BEHAVIOR before the false allegation is made.

Mother's Day, Father's Day: A Mixed Bag For All Of Us; With Laurie Smith, LMSW

Mother's Day, Father's Day: A Mixed Bag For All Of Us; With Laurie Smith, LMSW

    Send us a Text Message.
Slam the Gavel welcomes back Laurie Smith, LMSW to the podcast. Laurie was last on Season 3, Episode 170 and Season 4, Episodes 37, 74 and 153.
We discussed the dilemma of forced celebratory traditions such as Mother's Day and Father's Day. Laurie discussed the history behind Mother's Day which dates back to the Civil War. These clubs later became a unifying force in a region of the country still divided over the Civil War. In 1868 Jarvis organized “Mothers’ Friendship Day,” at which mothers gathered with former Union and Confederate soldiers to promote reconciliation. Another precursor to Mother’s Day also came from the abolitionist and suffragette Julia Ward Howe. In 1870 Howe wrote the “Mother’s Day Proclamation,” a call to action that asked mothers to unite in promoting world peace. In 1873 Howe campaigned for a “Mother’s Peace Day” to be celebrated every June 2nd. https://www.history.com/topics/holidays/mothers-day
Even if a parent can't be with their children there are other ways to celebrate or not celebrate these holidays.  What does a person do when everyone wants them to put on a smiling face, 'everything is going to be okay,' turns into a boundary violation. A person doesn't need to perform and mask for someone else and have a smile on their face in order to make someone else feel comfortable, is a nuance boundary violation. Not everyone needs to celebrate them or celebrate them in the same way. Find a way to celebrate in a way that has meaning for you.
