Dave Hill isn't from Canada. But his grandfather Clarence Vincent Blake, Sr. was, and he wouldn't shut up about it. Still, Dave wondered: what do we even really know about Canadians? So every Tuesday, Dave attempts to get to know our neighbors to the north - one Canadian at a time. And yeah, of course he talks about curling.

This podcast is seriously Canadian. And it's not sorry about it.

Rare 5 Star

I don’t know why I love this so much. But there is something so fun about this podcast. I’m American from New England, With family who immigrated from Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. This was many generations before me but it’s fun to think of “my history”. Dave’s dry humor is endearing and his dog in the background makes me smile. That’s Dave. Your voice is adorable too.

Thank you!

What a fun podcast! As a Canadian living in the US, this podcast is a good fix. Premiering with Malcolm Gladwell was a fine hook. The second episode from Trevor from Letterkenny was a terrific follow-up. It’s funny you asked him about L A. Have you seen the Letterkenny skit on L A ? Awesome! Merci beaucoup!

I find the concept funny - learning about Canada one Canadian at a time. I enjoyed the first episode, mainly because it introduced me to Letterkenny, which I’ve now watched. Some episodes have been more interesting than others. I hope it continues to improve. My only major criticism is that the sound quality isn’t very good. For example interviewing over Skype isn’t, in my opinion, the best sounding. Also, background dog noises are distracting. Don’t get me wrong, I love dogs (I have a dog) but not as podcast background noise.
