For instance, what should we do if we feel sick? What if, as many of us do, we have someone in our lives who is immunocompromised or medically complex?

Planning for the Future: Featuring Prof. Meghan Burke

Planning for the Future: Featuring Prof. Meghan Burke

Children with disabilities are outliving their parents at higher rates than ever before in history, often leaving adult siblings to transition into caregiving roles later in life. How is this transition being managed? What supports are needed? How does having multiple siblings change things? Professor Meghan Burke, Ph.D., BCBA-D, of the University of Illinois, is doing research to find out. Join us as she shares some of what she's learned.

Therapist perspective

Jessica Leving's podcast, book, and organization are all wonderful and helpful tools to aid siblings, families, and those in supporting roles to better understand this under-researched and talked about population. If you have a family member with special needs, this podcast is a must-listen.

Sibling Review

This podcast is amazing and so eye opening. As an adult sibling, I found myself sobbing in the car while listening because I couldn’t believe that other people actually felt the way I have felt and it was so nice to feel validated. Can not recommend this podcast enough. Amazing job, Jessica :)

Sibling

Jessica, thank you so much for this podcast. I am learning so much about myself as an adult sibling through your podcast. My conversation with you and your podcast has helped me tremendously in some of the experiences (and coping with these experiences!) that have become the norm for me as a triplet sibling to an amazing lady with Down syndrome. I cannot thank you enough.
