    This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Hannah Mcloughlin. Only 18 when she made her Irish senior debut, Hannah is a Senior International Irish hockey player. Hannah made it to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with the Irish team. Hannah graduated Economics and Finance from UCD with a first class honours under the Ad Astra Elite Sports Scholarship Programme.

    I’m delighted to say that tonight’s show is the last episode of my series I have been doing over the last couple of weeks called “See it To be it” and tonight’s show is focusing on the Kerry Stars special Olympics group I am going to chat Margaret Looney is head coach for Athletics, Mary O’Leary who is a volunteer/mentor and Janet O’Donoghue who is an Athlete with Kerry Stars.  I talk to 3 people who play different roles in the Kerry Stars special Olympics group.

    I’m delighted to say that my guest this week on Stand Out with me Ian O’Connell is Castleisland native Pat Murphy. Pat is a race walker with over 47 years I have competed  in over 100 countries. Pat was a self employed plumber with 48 years. All that came to an end the Monday of the May Bank Holiday 2023 when out of the blue he got a bad stroke. We talk about race walking, the stroke he suffered and much more.

    This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is both Antoinette O’Sullivan and Rena Blake. They are involved in Kerry Social Farming which is operating social farms since 2014, Kerry Social Farming was founded on principles of equality, social inclusion, voluntary community development and collaboration. It is currently one of two projects operating the voluntary model of social farming in Ireland, in that farmers are not paid for their time with participants. It is a locally-led, community-based,  that provides farming and social inclusion opportunities to people with physical and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries and those engaging with mental health services, all within their local communities.

    We will be talking about the organisation, Antoinettes disability, what Rena's role is and more.

    This weeks guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Eimear Lambe. Eimear is from Dublin and currently rows for Old Collegians Boat Club. Eimear started rowing in 2012. Eimear won a Bronze Medal in the Women’s Four at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She made history with Aifric, Emily and Fiona in winning Irish rowing’s first women’s Olympic Medal. We will be talking about her rowing career, Olympics, life outside sport, making history and more.

    This weeks  guest on Stand Out with Ian O’Connell is Tony Coffey. Tony Currently serves as a community health worker for Kerry Travellers Health and Community Development Project. In this role, I support individuals facing any challenges they may encounter. It’s important for other Travellers to know that we are here to support them and that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Despite the challenges Tony has faced he went on to complete his junior and leaving certificate is currently in college studying social care.

     We will be talking about growing up as a in the travelling community, challenges he has faced, being an example to others in the travelling community to con and much more.
