EP 56: Stacy Raske - Unleashing Your Divine Potential

How far is your ideal self from who you are right now? More importantly, what stands between you? We are a patchwork of experiences and beliefs, and it's all too easy to get tangled up and lose sight of the potential we already possess.

Stacy Raske is a bestselling author, speaker, Iraq War Veteran, badass biker chick, international success coach and leadership mentor, and intuitive business consultant. She has spent the past five years leaning into and learning from her trauma and addiction recovery journey to deeply understand the role of beliefs, boundaries, and balance in our sabotage and success.

Stacy's mission is to shift the social and cultural narrative surrounding ambitious, visionary Alpha Women by helping them shift from intimidating to influential leaders through unlocking their full authenticity, hiring their inner rebel, and balancing their power with more divine feminine energy, allowing them to finally shatter the invisible ceiling, leave a bigger impact and legacy, and experience unconditional success in every aspect of their lives, loves, and livelihood.

On this episode of the Step It Up Entrepreneur podcast, Tomas and Stacy cover the realization that kicked off Stacy's upswing from rock bottom to a legendary comeback, navigating the internal struggle with impostor syndrome that most of us eventually confront, how Stacy's book wound up helping her to heal, and the insights she has gained as an entrepreneur and a leader through her public speaking. Tune in for a dynamite interview that will inspire you to examine your own barriers - and then blow past them.

    What You'll Learn:
How Stacy began (and persisted in) the work of getting past surface-level distractions to the core of who she was and why she was struggling Why impostor syndrome is actually a good thing for any woman looking to embrace her divine feminine nature What Stacy's talent for and connection to storytelling does for her audience in terms of vulnerability and the ability to just be present with themselves And much more!
    Favorite Quote:
"The gap is what you think and believe about yourself is falling short. So that's the work that we do is to close the gap between who you're already being, which is that amazing, successful, divine feminine alpha leader, you know, creating this influential leadership and massive impact. But they're already being that version of themselves. We've just got to shift those oldest things that are creating the gap of the beliefs, and what they think about themselves. Because that's all it is, the story we tell ourselves. And so that's my big reframe on it like, 'No, no, that is an amazing thing, because you are way closer to what you want than you realize.'"

EP 55: Jessica Dennehy - Legal Advice For Small Business Owners

What were the first things you did when you started your business? Most of us got our tax situation sorted out, signed the lease on an office or bought a domain name….and very few of us spent any time with a lawyer. But, in fact, the legal chores we often ignore are some of the most pivotal for our business’ success.

Jessica Dennehy is a former Wall Street attorney-turned-entrepreneur. She left Wall Street to build a brand of barbershops in New York, which have scaled over the past eight years, even expanding overseas. Now, she's helping other entrepreneurs reinvent themselves, transform their ideas into successful companies and scale their businesses with the help of her corporate expertise and Pivot & Slay strategies.  You can find her & course offerings at JessicaDennehy.com.

On this episode of the Step It Up Entrepreneur Podcast, Jessica and Tomas dive deep on learning and succeeding in the midst of uncertainty and chaos, the mindset mistakes that cripple most small business owners (especially in the delegation department), and the legal structures that will give your business its best chance to grow and prosper, whether you’re running it alone or with others. Listen in for an inside look at the side of doing business that most visionary entrepreneurs aren’t thinking about.

    What You'll Learn:
Why Jessica left a lucrative position as a powerful Wall Street lawyer to embrace the much riskier option in the realm of entrepreneurship What business owners miss about the necessary legal stuff that goes along with running a company, and how it might come back to bite them later How a solid, fleshed-out partnership agreement improves your business relationships and removes unpredictable emotions from the equation And much more!

After being 20 years in Wall Street, where some people lose money, some people make money - it's not the most fun job, especially when the market goes to shit. I've had the most fun with this business, because you're giving, you’re finding people money, especially in this environment, we're literally changing lives.”

“Your vision is clear. But you are having trouble putting it into words for average people to understand. And that's something that I struggled with as I was coming up in the business game. One of the things that we have in common is that when you go out and you tell people, your wants, your dreams, your aspirations, they laugh at you, they don't believe you… The truth of the matter is, we’re judged by many. But to be honest with you, a lot of the people who judge us are just crabs in the bucket trying to pull us back down to their average-ass levels. And I'm not okay with that. One of the reasons that you're here listening to this is because you most likely have the mental tenacity and the commitment to fight ‘average’ each and every day.”

    Become Friends With The Competition

    Become Friends With The Competition

I saw a need in the GPS Tracking Installation industry for a group that was put in place to help others succeed in business.
I had seen this done successfully in countless other industries.  From roofing, sales, marketing, construction, car audio, etc.

I joined several car audio related groups as this was the industry I was quite familiar with.  But I noticed the same lame-ass conversations and s****y posts in all of these groups.  It quickly became apparent that these groups had little to no culture.  Their admins and moderators ruled with an iron fist or they were completely lax and let every spammy asshat into the group.
After searching for a GPS related group with no luck, I decided to create my own.
To be honest, I was scared.  I didn’t know what people were going to think of me.
The sad truth is that many people are scared of competition.
At first many were leery of my intentions.  But after showing up every day and offering value I slowly began to win the trust of these business owners.
The main reason I started the GPS Tracking Installers Facebook group was so that I could build a community of install techs in a very deep niched industry and ultimately scoop the cream off the top of the talent pool.
As the group grew, the interactions and conversations began to organically happen.  Basically, I didn’t need to post or ask questions daily in order to generate interaction.
This allowed me to step back and really analyze and see what these people were wanting.  We had lots of posts about the technical aspect of the job but very little about how to help grow your business.  It was almost as if people were scared to talk about how they were winning out of fear that their competitor would come and steal your idea and game plan.

So I decided to be me and nothing but me.  I’m as transparent as they get.  I decided to open up my business playbook and literally tell my competitors EXACTLY how we were winning at Top Class Installations.
What happened as a result of this I would have never guessed.
    Some people were turned off.
Some people were drawn to me and my willingness to share.  Especially the ones who weren’t willing to ask for help.
And most were VERY appreciative of my willingness to help others without looking for a handout at the end of the day.
I started to send referrals to my out of state competitors.  And all this did was deepen the relationships and bonds that were beginning to form all because I had the balls to start a Facebook group and put myself out there.
Before long, group members were following me on social media and I’d get invites to go out for a drink or dinner when I traveled.  Once you break bread with someone things change!

From there I started organizing GPS Tracking Installers meetups at industry events and trade shows across the country.
Little did I know at the time but I was establishing myself as the authority within the industry.
This helped boost my confidence in myself.
What do you think happens when you boost your confidence?  You start standing taller and subconsciously commanding attention.  Along with boosted confidence come boosted wins!  We were selling a shit ton at Top Class all because I decided to get a little uncomfortable and start a Facebook group.  Our team was growing.  We were beginning to receive referrals from our competitors!  This is a prime example of the law of reciprocity in action.
With all of this positive feedback surrounding me, it boosted my confidence further.  It gave me the final push I needed to continue to come out of my shell.  I had always wanted to write a book.  But for some reason, I now had this little voice in the back of my head telling me it was possible.
9 Months later I made the call and hired an editor to help me pull the genius from my brain and put it onto paper.  My book went on
