Stimmen der Stadt - Visionen für das Baakenhöft
Das Baakenhöft ist das letzte ungeplante Areal der Hafencity. Entsprechend vielfältig sind die Begehrlichkeiten für die prominente Spitze des Baakenhafens. Für die erste Folge unseres neuen Podcasts STIMMEN DER STADT haben wir Akteur:innen zum einen zur Geschichte des Ortes, zum anderen nach ihren Visionen für die Zukunft befragt. Die planerische „Leere“ provoziert kreative Ideen und alternative Visionen für das Zusammenleben auf der Halbinsel und den Sprung über die Elbe.
Neben dem Elbtower, die Elbphilharmonie und dem Spiegelgebäude nimmt das Baakenhöft eine stadtplanerische Schüsselfunktion als einer der Eckpunkte der HafenCity ein. Die Fläche wird bisher nur temporär genutzt, etwa als Kreuzfahrtterminal, durch die InitiativeMLove oder den Prototyp für einen bewohnbaren LeuchtturmLighthouse Zero.
Vorstellungen für weitere Nutzungen gibt es viele: Von Schaukeln auf dem Wasser zu einer Living Bridge, vom Laborraum für Kreative bis zum einem Eventcenter. Alle diese Visionen lagern sich an dieser unfertigen Fläche an - es gibt wenig Produktiveres für die Aneignung eines neuen Stadtteils, als das Potenzial der Fantasie.

Voices of the City - Visions for Baakenhöft
Baakenhöft is the last unplanned area in Hafencity. The desires for the prominent tip of Baakenhafen are quite diverse. For the first episode of our new podcast VOICES OF THE CITY we interviewed different players about the history of the area and their visions for the future of Baakenhöft. The planning-related "emptiness" of the area provokes creative ideas and alternative visions for the habitation on the peninsula and the leap over the Elbe.
Alongside Elbtower, Elbphilharmonie and Spiegel-building, Baakenhöft occupies a key spot in urban planning as one of the cornerstones of HafenCity. Until now the area has been used only temporarily for example as a cruise terminal, by the MLove- initiative or for the prototype of an inhabitable lighthouse, Lighthouse Zero.
There are many ideas for further uses: From swings on top of the water to a Living Bridge, from a laboratory space for creative people to an event center. All of these visions are attached to this unfinished space - there is nothing more productive for the appropriation of a new urban space than the potential of its imagination.
