Mindfulness: Making a Difference in the World | Eric Wilden
I hope everyone is staying healthy and sound. This episode was record at the beginning of February and our guest takes a Buddhist-based approach to cultivate mindfulness through the practice of running - which included falling asleep during an ultra-marathon.
You might want to check out his site and his meditations especially during these times to help you focus on what’s important and feel more at ease.
We're gonna call this one #luciddreaming #mindfulness.
Stories from the Start | Rita, 49, Canada
In today's episode we have Rita, a 49-year-old from Canada. After a lifetime of struggling with weight, she decided to make a change. This led to her first run, her first 5k and she's not done.
Stories From the Start is a new segment on the SFTR Podcast featuring Brittany Lee, who runs the Stories from the Start blog. What you'll hear is Brittany narrating inspiring stories submitted by runners from their starting line.
Breaking an Arm, Busting a Leg, OCR - Keep Going! | Darnell Murrell
This was recorded in February so the timeline of training and races might sound off due to the current state of the world.
Also, do NOT listen to any advice during this episode - you’ll hear why soon enough.
Our next guest has broken his leg and needed a titanium plate put in after breaking his arm during an obstacle race
He’s the bionic man and his story is going to inspire you on how to push through even the most challenging of times.
We're gonna call this one #canthurtme #nevergiveup
Run, listen and learn
I want more of this, and other people probably will too.
This is what podcast should be
Very well done podcast (great sounding audio) that focuses on good stories. It’s not the same ol’, same ol’ that you get on TV before a marathon; this feels more intimate and engaging.
If you enjoy running and good stories then Stories from the Run needs to be in your rotation.
