Story Time at the Roo Bus is a weekly podcast by and for the music festival community. From Bonnaroo and beyond, we talk weekly with the people that make the festivals we attend, share stories, and talk about what else has us excited.
100th Episode Special
Join us in this bonus-sized episode where we have a little bit of everything! Our Patreons join us, Brooklin hosts a round table call, and Sharla and Daniel talk about both the past and future of our projects. It's also soon to be rumor season, so we have a lot of gossip and speculation to talk about too!
Special Episode: Live From Burning Man!
Join Sharla and Daniel in their cross country trip to Burning Man! We'll have you virtually along for the ride in our car, at our camp, and on bikes with us out in the Playa. One of our main goals was to learn as much as we could to see what we could bring back to improve Bonnaroo, and we have a LOT to discuss!
99 - Ready for Burning Man with Celia
Celia from the Parachute People is guest hosting this week, she had a lot of burning questions (pun intended) for Sharla and Daniel about Burning Man! We talk about the prep it took, what we expect to see once we're there, and what Burning Man and Bonnaroo share in common. Look out for mini bonus episodes from our trip in the week or two to come!
98 - Festival Season 2022 Wrapup
Sharla and Daniel are on the back porch again to talk about all of the trends and everything we noticed for Festival Season 2022. Things like Firefly and Moon River are still coming up, but with Labor Day approaching it felt like a good time to take a look at what worked and what didn't for this last festival season. We also talk a bit about our Burning Man trip, and also are looking forward to our 100th episode! If you started attending Bonnaroo in 2013, please get in touch with us to be on it!
97 - Pondo's Adventure at Woodstock 99
This past week, Netflix released a new documentary series about Woodstock 1999. It's an event that's lived in infamy for a long while now, and the repercussions of it are still felt today at large music festivals. Our good buddy Pondo was actually there, and is here this week with Sharla and Daniel to tell us the whole story!
96 - What Happened to Music Midtown?
The whole festival scene got a big shock this past week when Music Midtown was cancelled due to some legal issues. Sharla and Daniel have a talk with Frank, a Bonnaroovian out of Chicago that also is a very knowledgeable lawyer about what's going on and what it means for Bonnaroo. (Spoiler alert, not much for now.) We also talk with Bonnaroovian of the Year Lindsey about his opinions on it as a responsible gun owner. Afterwards, Sharla and Daniel talk Burning Man and Live on the Green too!
10/10 would listen again ✨
Awesome to see you all grow from being fans of Roo to hosting an amazing podcast to being on the plaza lineup. Love listening each week.
Takin me back!
Y’all are fun to listen to and remind me of my home away from life. Keep radiating positivity!!!!
