    Show Notes and Quotes:

Engaging students more and more on social media cannot be just what happens during this Covid-19 season, it must continue to happen long after this season is over.

Intentionality has been a major theme for this quarantine season. Students want to know you care and still want to interact and learn during this difficult season.

Episode 236: What it takes to truly reach students who don’t know Christ

Episode 236: What it takes to truly reach students who don’t know Christ

In this episode, Ben and Julie talk about what it takes to truly reach students who don’t know Christ.

    Show Notes and Quotes:

When lost students are in your ministry, they may not look or act like the other students. Continuing to show the love of Christ and proclaiming the Gospel is essential to showing students what it looks like have a Gospel-centered focus for the lost.

Train your volunteers and church members how to interact with lost students who attend your ministry. Too often it can be discipline and structure first instead of the grace of the Gospel. Continue to show students the Gospel and let the life changing work of Christ and the Holy Spirit change their hearts and actions.

Episode 235: Dispelling 5 Seemingly Great Ministry Intentions

Episode 235: Dispelling 5 Seemingly Great Ministry Intentions

In this episode, Ben, John Paul, and Julie talk about five ministry intentions that seem great at first but do not always work out as intended.

    Show Notes and Quotes:

We should not make people fit into our programs but we should flip the script and build our programming around our people. Knowing what your people will thrive in makes all the difference.

If we do not share ministry then we rob people of discipleship opportunities.

If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself. That mentality robs people of ministry opportunities and the ability to grow their own spiritual gifts.

When we neglect to raise up other leaders in our ministry we neglect part of the call that God has placed on our lives as leaders.

Episode 234: Race Conversation in Student Ministry

In this episode, Ben talks with A.C. Sanford about how to have race conversations in student ministry.

    Show Notes and Quotes:

Teenagers in our ministries want and need to talk about this. If we are going to disciple teenagers, the topic of race cannot be left out.

We are launching students into the world to love Jesus and the Church as a whole. To do that well, we must have conversations around race.

Episode 233: How to Change a Ministry Culture

Episode 233: How to Change a Ministry Culture

In this episode, Ben, John Paul, and Julie talk with Brian Mills, the senior pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Yukon OK, about how to change a ministry culture successfully.

    Show Notes and Quotes:

You cant change a culture you don’t know. If you don’t study the culture first you become the know it all who just moved in and will make some really bad decisions.

To change a culture you must know the culture.

You may have a great vision but if you run so fast that you outpace your people, your vision will never be fulfilled.

The key to a successful culture change is changing the culture without a ton of collateral damage.

We must listen to people about their culture and hear their hearts.  We don’t bully our way through the church, we respectfully lead with wisdom and care with the direction of the Holy Spirit.

If you are not ready to answer hard questions about culture change, then you are not ready to change the culture.

The only youth ministry podcast worth listening to

Legit, the only one worth listening to. The principles they talk about apply to adult ministries, senior pastorship, and youth ministry. It's challenging, fun, and thought provoking. I’d give more stars if I could.

Love It

Still love the pod you guys. Weird thing has been happening though. There have been one or two spots in the last few where one of your voices suddenly starts to echo. It give you a very divine ring. I need to know if this is an audio thing happening or if the Lord is coming behind your words to tell me something?!
