Strive to Be Anti-Racist

When discussing connecting with a Vietnamese family with whom you lived in their country in the context of understanding racism, refrain from describing your skin as “my perfect White skin," Sue Perkins. That’s not what the Vietnamese mother envied about you. She envied you having the citizenship of a wealthy country that has been able to violently dominate others, including those in her part of the world, and impose its will. Your description of your skin shows that you have internalized the lie of White supremacy. Any objective person desiring healthy skin that doesn’t prematurely age and wrinkle, would want skin with melanin- like the skin of the Vietnamese mother and the majority of people around the world.
