Luke 9 captures several interactions between Jesus and His would-be disciples. In these interactions, Jesus alludes to what it will cost to follow Him.

Challenge Sunday was about presenting the vision of Make Room to our congregation and challenging them to participate in the campaign. Next Sunday (April 21) after we each prayerfully consider our part, we will bring our commitments back to the church so that we can participate together.

We live in light of Jesus's resurrection and all that it means for us: freedom from sin, hope of heaven, salvation. We share in Christ's victory! But Jesus also taught about His return and about what His followers should devote themselves to until He returns again.

Easter Sunday marks the day of the resurrection of Jesus more than 2,000 years ago. That event sparked the birth of the Christian church and changed the course of human history. For those with faith in Christ, this day has changed our eternity! Do you marvel at the events of that first Easter Sunday? Are you in awe of what this day means for you? On this Easter Sunday, we look back and take in the Wonder of Easter.

The Triumphal Entry is exactly that, triumphant- for the King has arrived! But there is more going on under the surface. While the crowd sings praise, Jesus grieves, because His kingship carries a peace they do not know. In humility, Jesus continues His journey to the cross, on His mission for the salvation of the world.

The way of Jesus is the way of greatness, yet not in the way we are accustomed to. True greatness is achieved only through humble self-denial; a servanthood that furthers others and glorifies Christ.
