Episode 1-22: How Long Will This Last, Perry?

Episode 1-22: How Long Will This Last, Perry?

As the MLB Trade Deadline arrives this Friday, the Super Halo Bros. take a look at what's ahead for the Los Angeles Angels and ask the question, "How long will this last Perry?" Will he make the right moves and improve the bullpen? Will the Halos add starting pitching? Who stays, and who goes? After a great series against the Minnesota Twins over the weekend that saw a breakout performance from Jack "Money" Mayfield and an almost no-hitter from Patrick Sandoval, the Angels came home to face the Colorado Rockies on Monday, in a game which saw Shohei Ohtani have another strong 7-inning performance and pick up the win. If the odds are in the Halos' favor, they could be sitting closer to a playoff spot at the end of the week, and the guys look at how that might happen. With the young pitching arms making quite the impression, Mike and Jon pick their future rotation studs for next year. The NHL expansion draft for the Seattle Kraken got the Bros. thinking of who they'd protect on the Angels 40-man roster if there were an expansion draft today, and they also discuss the ESPN article detailing the dire living situations for the Angels' minor leaguers. Episode 1-21: Somebody Put Out That Dumpster Fire!

Episode 1-21: Somebody Put Out That Dumpster Fire!

Now that the All-Star Break is over, Shohei Ohtani and Jared Walsh return to the Angels to take on the second half of the season, and it's not exactly off to a good start. After two series against AL West rivals like the Seattle Mariners and the Oakland A's, the Angels have struggled to win games despite strong starts from Ohtani, Patrick Sandoval, and José Suarez, the offense has gone cold, and the bullpen is a complete dumpster fire. The Super Halo Bros. cover what was good, what went wrong, and discuss the arrival of the Angels' highly-touted prospect, Brandon Marsh! Plus, given their lackluster performance, are the Halos buyers or sellers at the deadline? Then, Mike and Jon create the ultimate 2021 Angel-killer team comprised of the best players that Angel fans absolutely do not like to see on the field against them this season. Episode 1-20: Hey Now, You're a Walsh-Star, It's the Big Game, Shohei!

We've hit the MLB All-Star Break, and the second half of the season is upon us! The Super Halo Bros. discuss the series against the Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners, David Fletcher's 24-game hit streak, Jared Walsh and Shohei Ohtani at the MLB All-Star Game, and check their confidence level in how far this Angels team could go for the remainder of the season. The guys look at the teams who they'll need to pass in order to secure a playoff spot and whether or not they can make that happen. Jon and Mike recap the Home Run Derby and Shohei's massive home runs at Coors Field, his start on the mound, Jared Walsh's game-saving catch, and the media attention around Ohtani. Plus, they discuss the controversial comments Stephen A. Smith made on ESPN's "First Take" and why they disagree with what he said. Then, the Bros talk Perry Minasian's epic MLB Draft performance, in which he selected 20 pitchers, the situation around Daron Sutton's untimely release, and the Bros. give out their Mid-Season Awards to players they currently see as AL and NL Rookie of the Year, Cy Young, and MVP! Episode 1-19: "Hey, Jealousy!" That's Our Shohei Ohtani

Episode 1-19: "Hey, Jealousy!" That's Our Shohei Ohtani

What a week it's been for the Halos! Although the Super Halo Bros. were uncertain about the Los Angeles Angels' season, the team has come up with some clutch victories courtesy of All-Stars Shohei Ohtani, Jared Walsh, and even Juan Lagares! The Bros. discuss the wild Wednesday that was in the Bronx against the New York Yankees, the sweep of the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend, wild walk-offs, and players like Adam Ottavino and fans alike displaying their jealousy of the greatness that is Shohei. While our Colorado-bound All-Stars have been making headlines, other Halos have shined bright, including David Fletcher and Raisel Iglesias. Mike makes a case for why it's not a good idea for Ohtani to participate in the MLB Home Run Derby, and Jon vehemently disagrees. With the 2021 MLB Draft soon approaching, the Bros. take a look at the last ten years worth of Angels 1st-round picks. Episode 1-18: Stick a Fork in the Angels; They're Done?

Episode 1-18: Stick a Fork in the Angels; They're Done?

On this episode, The Super Halo Bros. discuss whether or not the Los Angeles Angels still have hope for their season and take a look at the 2003 Florida Marlins and the 2019 Washington Nationals, two teams who were able to turn it around at this point and win the World Series. Looking ahead to the current New York Yankees series and matchups against the Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, and Seattle Mariners, Mike and Jon talk about the kinds of headlines they'd like to see after the MLB All-Star Break. Plus, some big news for the Angels organization, as the family of Tyler Skaggs presented a lawsuit for negligence, gross negligence, and wrongful death against the team. It's a difficult situation that will be felt to the core of the fanbase, and Mike and Jon share their thoughts on the matter. Then, why do Dodger fans insist on letting Angels fans live in their head, rent-free? The Bros. have had enough, and explain how the Dodgers' fanbase needs a reality check. Of course, we can't go an episode without talking about Shohei Ohtani, and the guys share which players they are reminded of when Ohtani is at the plate and takes the mound. Finally, the brothers share their earliest Halo memories! Don't forget to follow the Super Halo Bros. on Twitter and Instagram @superhalobros!

While the Halos have been winning the games they should be winning, it's been a tough go against actually good teams like the Oakland A's and San Francisco Giants. The brothers recap those games and look ahead to the tough road trip ahead. Plus, who do Angels have in terms of trade candidates, and what would they want in return? Mike and Jon give their picks for potential trade pieces as the Trade Deadline approaches. They reminded me of the Kaminetzsky Bros at first but honestly they’re 1,000 times better. Really enjoy their banter and insight. This is by far the best Angels Podcast. 10/10.
