Aaron Quinn Talks Bills, NFL & Christmas Flicks

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast, Patrick Moran is joined by friend and recurring guest Aaron Quinn from Cover 1 to talk all things Buffalo Bills as well as discuss some Christmas movies Patrick recently seen for the first time on Aaron’s recommendation.
As the Bills head down the stretch of their regular season that begins with a huge Monday night matchup next week against division rival New England, the guys discuss the impact of Tre White’s season-ending ACL injury and examine if Bills general manager Brandon Beane deserves criticism for standing pat at the trade deadline and perhaps even being a little overconfident in the depth of his roster. They also discuss Dawson Knox’s breakout season and Isiah McKenzie being benched.
They also each pick a sleeper AFC team to watch for, a historic anniversary for the late Michael Jackson and with it being Christmas season, Patrick’s getting in the spirit by watching movies seemingly everyone except him has already seen.

    Casual Wednesday With Joe Yerdon

    Casual Wednesday With Joe Yerdon

On this episode of Talking Buffalo Podcast Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon for this special Casual Wednesday episode to discuss a variety of topics, including the Buffalo Bills finding themselves in a dog fight in the AFC, Buffalo Sabres forward Tage Thompson playing to his potential, “Starting Five” draft of the best female vocalists of the past 40 years, Black Friday shopping and much more.
The Bills were embarrassed on their home turf against Indianapolis this past Sunday and the guys still have plenty of reaction from that, including thoughts on the New England Patriots emerging as potential AFC eastern division favorites and who both guys think will end up in the Super Bowl from the conference as of today. They also talk about the lack of vaccinated players in Buffalo becoming a competitive disadvantage.
The Sabres are predictably losing games and rapidly slipping down the NHL standings but the guys focus on three Sabres who’ve showed a lot of promise of late: Thompson, Dylan Cozens and Rasmus Dahlin.
The guys also struggle with who to select in leave off in a very difficult “Starting Five” draft category this week, both hate the concept of Black Friday and much more. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Bills Midseason Awards, Sabres Talk & Best TV Talk Show Hosts

Bills Midseason Awards, Sabres Talk & Best TV Talk Show Hosts

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including some Buffalo Bills midseason awards (both good and bad) as well as thoughts on the void Spencer Brown leaves after going on the Covid list, parity in the NFL, Dustin Tokarski becoming a NHL feel good story and a “Starting Five” draft of best TV Talk Show Hosts.
Patrick goes through several Bills individual and team awards at the (pretty much) midseason point and Joe has thoughts on several of them. They also discuss the offensive line potentially in shambles again without Brown and not liking the parity that’s engulfing the league.
They also spend some time talking about the Sabres, including the surprising emergence of Tokarski in net (this was taped before the Calgary debacle on Thursday night) as well as the importance of this young team experiencing as much winning as possible, even at the expense of a potential higher draft pick next year.
That, plus this week’s draft of TV Talk Show Hosts and tons more!

Casual Friday: Bills, Sabres & Best Rock Bands

It’s Casual Friday on Talking Buffalo Podcast, which means Patrick Moran is joined by Noted Hockey author, sports media personality and friend Joe Yerdon to discuss a variety of topics, including Patrick still not over last week’s Buffalo Bills loss, the Sabres near-future roster showing a lot of promise, a “Starting Five” draft of Best Rock Bands and much more.
The Bills only put up six points in an embarrassing loss to the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars last week and while the guys agree ugly losses happens to everyone including good teams in the NFL, the Bills offensive line is a problem that isn’t going to just go away. They talk about some of the mistakes Brandon Beane has made with the unit over the past few seasons and the shock that a third-round rookie not even expected to play his first year is suddenly a critical clog on the line.
The wheels are starting to fall off the Sabres season already, at least in the win/loss column. The guys talk about that not being surprising but provide some optimism with a glance into the not so distant future.
That, plus this weeks’ draft of Best Rock Bands, a review of last week’s “Starting Five” (Adam Sandler Movies) and tons more.
